Mine does this often in sport mode if the grade exceeds 4 degrees. It’s quite annoying that you can’t manually bump the gear up one with the paddles if you don’t agree with what the computer decides to do. Never saw it in normal mode

Thanks, I was hoping it wasn't just me. It definitely was a WTF moment when it revved and I was just taking it easy, slowing for a turn.

Not something I’ve seen, but it sounds like grade braking. I’d suspect a combination of the decline and throttle position caused it to downshift more aggressively. It’s not a sign of any issue I’ve come across.

Very good, that's what I was hoping. I've seen various posts from guys with various shifting issues, but I haven't had any. 90% of the time I drive in normal mode, and it's been fine. I'm glad to hear it's not the beginning of an issue. I do still have the Ford ESP. Thanks very much FTO. :favorites13:

I can compel what I call an ‘inarticulate’ shift if I let off throttle just as she is about to upshift. It’s difficult to do and once I realized what it was I stopped, but, I’m wondering it was a combo of cold operation and sensing some very subtle throttle position change.

I hope so, It's only done it once. I wanted to check in here and was really hoping to not find out that this is a precursor to some kind of issue that is starting. I've seen a lot of people posting about odd shifting patterns, but it seems like most of those were using Sport Mode in most of their driving. I'm the opposite, I use Sport only once in a while and 99% of the time my shifting has been spot on. The couple real weird shifts I have had were like you said, self-induced by me being in the throttle and getting off of it for whatever reason right as it was shifting.

While I like the 10 speed tranny in the Raptor, it’s not the smartest or smoothest at times. I shudder to admit I never use sport mode so this only applies to normal. I will get aggressive downshifting at times, happened in my Gen2 and 3. It’s nothing to worry about. Just don’t make any short stops as your male is schtuping you. It can cause over penetration which you may like.
