I'm all about durability and protecting the paint from minor desert pinstripes.
NO DOUBT, the rock solid combination that I picked up from professional detailers site - and it is awesome on the Tux Black
105/601 Duragloss in a 4:1 ratio
Topped 24 hours later with Collinite 915
It will literally last a year if you use an auto shampoo when you wash.
I'm sure Adams is a good product, but I spent 3 months on autogeek.net finding what the professionals use - and I mean the guys that do professional details on Lamborghinis.
I asked them what would be good for Raptor offroad for durability and the overwhelming advice was the above.

None of them offered a coating like Opti-Coat, CarPro Cquartz, 22ple VX1, or Gtechniq?
Some of those have actually been shown to be resistant/reduce minor scratching. If you had Opti-Coat for example, swirls/minor scratches would be in the layer of Opti-Coat versus potentially being in your clear coat. You could safely polish away the Opti-Coat then versus your clear.
Not knocking the combo of DG 105/601 or Collinite 915 either, all are great products.
You can polish Opti-Coat or any other coating. You would be removing it though if you do polish it, same with any other LSP too. You can top Opti-Coat with whatever you want but it will only lasts for a month at most because like you said, nothing sticks to it.---------- Post added at 10:43 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:14 PM ----------

The only problem I have with opti-coat, is that I read you can't wax it or polish it, it's a waste of time because nothing sticks too it. And I can't believe it's going to have that just waxed look 4 or 5 years down the road. I have several cars that the paint looks better now, than when it was new. And I don't think Opti-cost will provide that.

If you like to lightly polish your truck every so often, there are other less permanent coatings that are only suppose to lasts 1-2 years. Some of these are incredibly glossy and slick, water is literally afraid of the paint.
Not knocking on the stuff you use, just informing. If you find something you like and that works for you, use it often.
