I live in the rust belt so i have been taking all of my trucks to get sprayed with fluid film. It really does quiet down all the squeaks and squeals. I have not done it on the raptor yet, although i intend to before the road department starts putting salt down this year. The guy i take my trucks to does a very thorough job with it too.

THANK YOU!!!! I had the same thing happen. The dealer thought it was my tonneau cover ('headshake').

Great thread here. I'm going to try power washing on jacks before I take it to the dealer again.

What is a "tip insert"? Mine has done it almost since new. Of course, the time I took it to the dealer, it was silent. I think it was raining that day.

I looked up "Jack of all Sprays" but couldn't find much information about their basic formula from the website.

In my experience the majority of lubricants attract dust and dirt resulting in more noise; this is the reason that Ford only recommends that the leafs be cleaned with high pressure water. If a noise issue persists, the tip inserts are typically damaged and must be replaced.

This is the diagnostic direction from the Workshop Manual for leaf spring squeak/creak/rattle:

NOTE: To avoid the re-occurrence of noise, make sure that all contamination and moisture trapped between the individual leaf spring components have been completely removed.

NOTE: Do not apply any lubricant or grease to the leaf springs as this will attract dirt and moisture.

PRESSURE WASH the leaf springs between the individual spring leafs and the gaps between the spring bushings, mounting brackets and shackles to remove any trapped debris. USE compressed (shop) air to remove any remaining debris and to completely dry between all of the individual spring components.Verify noise symptom is not present. If still present replace tip insert.

Keep us posted on how the lubricant you applied works; if it's more of a "dry" type lubricant, it might prove to be an effective long term solution for various leaf spring noises.

A few of us in a raptor assault class asked the same question regarding the leaf springs. We noted that upon leaving the barn in the morning the trucks didn’t have much of any squeaks, which is interesting since it’s pretty much in dirt the whole time. The instructors mentioned just power washing the springs as part of routine cleaning.

So glad to hear the next Raptor with have coil springs.... wish the GEN2s had them.

I`ve had a lot of leaf spring troubles in the past with other vehicles, so far the Raptor has been Quiet
I did put the springs at full droop and sprayed them with Specialist WD-40 Dirt & Dust Resistant DRY LUBE it`s a PTFE Spray. Hopefully some preventative maintenance so there isn`t another squeak or rattle to drive me crazy. You can get it at Amazon, not everyone stocks the WD-40 SPECIALIST Line.

One other thing that I have used in the past was HOPPES Powdered Teflon, it worked like a charm and it was originally used on my paintball guns. Most of you know HOPPES is big in the gun world

Found this interesting on the news. What color Raptor would you get with that kind of money? Would you go big and get all of the options?

Interesting question. I think I'd have a top professional hand build me a truck.

My rear end was squeaking after @Oldfart and @smurfslayer paid me a visit. Used a little extra lube and squeak was gone.

My 2019 squeaked after blasting through sandy dry trails in and around Moab. Thankfully it went away after a basic hand car wash and never recurred.

I cannot believe in this day and age @Oldfart did not get to this thread in a timely manner and offer forth his pithy commentary on the appropriate use of ... lubricants.
