Hold on dude. Their 10speed is co - developed with the one in the raptor.
you are correct dude. and that was the only reason i agreed to buy the 2019 denali after 4 previous tranmission fails. 2 were repaired and starting to fail again after about 30k moremiles. but when the water pump completely disintegrated with no warning what so ever at 60k miles on the 19 denail, it just came over as more of the same. cheap shit thrown together. and now sits a 2021 navigator L black label in its place. Gm can suck it.

So which one did you have ? Are you saying the 10 speed had problems?

The Gen 1 3.5 GTDI engines are no different than any other direct injected engine; fuel quality and maintenance are key in preventing carbon buildup. I wouldn’t say they should be avoided, just be cautious if you buy one used.
I agree including oil thats low vapor for these egr sytems. However, personally a non port injected DI engine is a no go for me. I would never buy one. Although i will also say that the Raptor having both a low and a high pressure fuel pump and 2 fuel rails one to drive port and DI its another thing to fail. What is the DI injector service or replacement interval? How hard is that job to do?

People are inherently lazy. So those who have not been wronged (issues) generally are not going to post, bitch, complain. My 2020 only has 26k plus on it but gets oil changes every 5k and has been flawless.

As a side note, wife has a 2022 Mercedes Benz GLE 450. First couple of model years there were issues and that’s all people remember and those who had problems make it their mission to “educate” everyone on. Granted, hers is only at 10k, but it suffers none of the issues the early vehicles had long before then. Actually it’s been flawless as well. It also is the manufacturers most sold model in America, so of course shops are likely to see more ”issues” with these than any other model.

Point is the higher the production, the greater the number of issues even though the over all percentage of failures may be MUCH lower than any other engine currently sold due to the vast volume of these engines produced.

Buy you a Raptor using common sense and TRY to enjoy it half as much as I do mine!

There is no service interval for the injectors; as long as good quality (top tier) fuel is used, they should last the life of the truck. Both port and direct fuel systems can be accessed by removing the intake manifold.

2019 with close to 38k miles and zero issues other than on the local dealer waiting list for cam phasers. Little noisey but other than that the truck runs flawless
