I plan on getting the stock wheels powder coated black. It seems like there is not a good option unless you have a spare set of wheels and tires. How is everyone doing this? Take it to a tire shop to have them remove the tires then taking the rims to a powder coater? I dont want to leave it in the garage on jack stands if I dont have too. Ideally, it would be nice if I took it to a place where it was a one stop shop.

Its a 3-5 day job to get them blasted, prepped, and coated. Then you have to get a shop to mount them again. Its best to have a spare set to run around on in the mean time unless you can park the truck on stands. I already had a set of aftermarket wheels on the truck and went back to OEM so i was able to avoid the hassle. Good luck.

Try black plastidip. Deflate, break the front bead, mask with playing cards and then bombs away.

Could be done in a day. Removable too.

I'll have to check into that. Was thinking of a more durable solution such as powder coating. I am not sure how that will stand up to the hard winters here especially with all of the sand/salt they put down.

I was planning to powder coat as well. The shop told me I would leave the vehicle over night and done the next day.

I did my 2015 F150 and my 2019 F150. The 2015 went about 2 years and then I removed. The 2019 I had on about a year. Pressure wash them all the time, no issues. Live in NW Indiana, winter does not affect it, however curb rash does - LOL.

Here is the 2019.

I also wants to powder coat the bead lock rings only on my 2017 OEM wheels. Can I just deflate the tires first then take the rings off or do I need to do the whole let the air out, break the bead on the tires and then remove the rings?
