did not read all the pages but guys this all was done when gas was $4 a gallon in some spots we are back to below $2; will the 6.2L fit in the new body???

The 6.2L isnt going to ever go back into the Raptor. The 5.0 TT v8 will be the replacement of the 3.5L tt v6 if there is ever a replacement or optional motor.

Thats my opinion.

Just my 02 cents.. I'm currently renting a 2014 f150 w/ v6 ecoboost and I'm actually pretty surprised with the low grunt torque. I'm starting to think a hopped up version of this may not be too bad for the new raptor.

the torque curve is nearly flat as a table, hits peak torque at a lower RPM than the 6.2, and holds it there throughout the power band!

Something like 420 tq vs. the 6.2's 434, so a whopping 14 peak tq less, but it hits 420 well before the 6.2 reaches 420 tq and holds it thru the RPMs, which all equals a pretty ballsy combo! It's not all about peak numbers, it's the shape of the curve and the power under the curve that really makes a difference

As much as I would love the TTV8 option I doubt that will happen IMO.

Now what I could see as a plausible solution for ford(if they felt so inclined), is the TTV6 option and a N/A V8 option that is already developed...Raptor with a 5.2L Voodoo. Now that I would pay an extra $5k for.

And with software tuning you will have more HP and more torque than the current 6.2L - so net positives are there - the downside is you will have turbo lag, won't drive and feel like a NA motor - trade off's but end of the day more hp and torque with a lighter motor will be a good thing.

Ford is very aware that customers will complain about turbo lag:

"And then there's the anti-lag system. It's not a fuel-dumping system like on fire-spitting nutso rally cars, but we're told a lot of work went into the control systems to make sure manifold pressures stay up to keep the turbos spooled. They're not messing around here. The turbos aren't in the valley—a so-called "hot vee" setup like many of the German companies have moved to lately—but the resulting engine is still much more compact than the V8 it replaces."

11 to 119. Lets hope the v6 is the standard engine with the option of the v8 (like 2010). Everyone will be happy and i can get the engine i want at a discount (me being 1 of the 11), lol.

If Ford does decide to sneak in a V8, which I doubt they will because the Eco is their new baby, my biggest dilemma would be whether or not to trade in my 2012 or keep it and go for the new GT350. That's one killer snake.
