2018 Scab, approx 58000 mi. CEL comes on yesterday, throws P2098, P014A and P0056 all bank 2 O2 sensor 2.
Why does my dealer need 2 days to diagnose this.
Just asking for knowledge!

Because dealers are always overbooked and they will not get to your truck that instant!!! It may take them a day or 2 just to get to your truck, your truck is their waiting in their lot---when they have a slot, then yours will get looked at!!

Yep, exactly. Especially with the shortage of technicians these days; they’re tired of being overworked and underpaid.

As far as OPs DTCs, it sounds like HO2S Bank 2 sensor 2 has failed. Start with a visual inspection of the exhaust and wiring though.

I'm curious, what is the typical hourly rate at Ford? Do the mechanics get paid off of experience? Certifications and education? What percentage do the mechanics get of the hourly charged rate that ford charges? Tools provided by Ford or is this on the mechanics? Sorry just curious and pain meds have me bored lol.

Truly sorry I wasn't hijacking this thread or meaning to change the OPs question or concerns.

I figured as much but any concern with a possible pinched or misplaced lead touching exhaust after
cam phaser replacement/cab removal?

Usually by flat rate hour. Ar least it was when I was still turning wrenches.

So flat rate works like this. Book time says an oil change is .6 of an hour. So if I made $20 an hour I'd be paid $12 to preform an oil change. Here is the kicker...

If the oil change took say 3 hours for whatever reason, I would still only be paid the .6 of an hour. If I completed the task in .5 of an hour, I would still get the .6 hour. Warranty times are about 60%-70% of what the dealership would charge a customer.

These book times do not include getting the repair order, the keys, moving the car blocking the car you need to work on and drive into your bay. Thats all lost time for the tech.

Now some shops are just paid an hourly rate. My buddy at Ferrari is. So it really depends on how the shop is set up for their technicians.

Pretty crappy deal for the mechanics...hence why shortage and lack of good ones right ? But McDonald's will pay you to start at 15 bucks an hour....crazy for sure
