Here's some pics from my S1 reverse lights install today that I just got from Offroad Alliance...

The S1 mounts attach in factory holes. No drilling required.

Threaded clips come with kit that you slip over factory holes. No nut needed on the back of the bolts that go in these. I used use a screw driver to pop the clips on. Make sure you put the threaded clips on correctly. The flush side goes on the side that the light attaches to.

I used one of the split washers that came with the kit on each of the mount bolts.

1/4 socket with 3mm metric hex to snug up lights. Leaving the bolt that attaches the light mount to the body a little lose makes this easier because you can swivel the light to tighten the screws that hold the light to the mount.

7/16 open end wrench tightens mount down. Note the logo on the lights is upside down. If this bugs you, you can remove the lens bracket and reverse it.

Here's a diagram I found for the tail-light plug. The kit comes with a clip on tap to attach to wire for reverse light. The wire you want to put the clip on is the wire going to pin 4. This diagram shows the plug-end.

The wire going to pin 4 looks solid green in the pic but it actually has a brown stripe on it that you can't see in the pic.

I needed a place to attach the ground wire and noticed a couple studs inside the taillight compartment. I tried one of the spare lock nuts that came with the kit and it fit the stud.
It's tight getting into the compartment to tighten the nut but a 1/4 drive long handled
ratchet got it done. There's also a couple studs right under the taillight compartment that the ground wire would probably reach that might be easier to use.

I taped the tap wire to the factory wiring harness. If you are going to run an aux wire up to engine compartment then make sure you tap the factory reverse light wire in the passenger side taillight housing instead of in the driver's side taillight housing.

Here's the lights mounted... You can see the plugs dangling from the lights in this pic. I had not plugged them in yet when this pic was taken.

Once I had tapped into the factory backup light on the passenger side, I checked and made sure they were coming on when I put the truck in reverse and they were.

Very happy with how these look.

Tomorrow I'll be running the aux wire up to the engine compartment so that I can also turn the lights on from the overhead switches. I'll take pics of the path I run the wires and post them tomorrow.

Excellent write up and very detailed.

Plan on either these or the S2.

I think the S1 are smaller with less output but I'm sure they still work great.

And now for the extension to the engine bay aux switch out... I think I'm going to wait for it to warm up a little for that run. Will post more pics then.

Baja's site specs for the S1's show them putting out 2,375 lumens and drawing 1.45A.

The S2 Sports in the Baja Designs reverse kit are rated at 1,130 lumens and draw .9A
