Hi all, I finally got my first Raptor, a Gen 2. 2019 with just shy of 100k miles. I've been doing a ton of research here and other resources online over the past month or so, before and after buying it. I figured I dodged a bullet with the one I got. Since it's at 100k with no startup sounds I figure the truck either had the cam phasers already replaced (multiple times?) or the software fix, or both. It's a Feb 2019 so I figure it didn't have the fix implemented upon it being built, but a prior owner probably swapped them after failure. Anyway ... wanted to see if anyone had answers to a few questions I have. Nothing major. It's not only my first Raptor, not only my first Ford, but my first US car and first non-BMW. Deeply in love with it already and can't wait to get more done. Already did graphics, new wheels+tires, rear fender liners, mud flaps, center console fridge and Roush intake!
A few questions, hopefully not too difficult, but haven't been able to diagnose myself yet with the help of the internet + AI, so maybe someone can help lead me in the right direction:
1. I have a strange noise at very low speeds. It's a burr noise, or some kind of low-pitch high-frequency humming noise. It occurs when the truck is either in neutral or in gear, and brakes both being pressed or not being pressed. Only noticeable at very low speeds. I first thought it was brake-related but I don't think it is. It's almost like a vibration from the low end of the truck. I definitely can not capture it on video and I think it can be felt, even just a tiny bit, through the pedals. I wonder if it's some kind of low transfer case fluid issue, or something like that. I also see a bit of oil on the rear diff, maybe near the pinion seal side, as well as some oil seeping towards the front end. I also don't think this noise occurs when the wheel is turned, but I can't verify this fully yet.
2. I hear some minor clicking or chattering noises, which I think I read might be the springs on the turbos. I hear them kind of all the time, cold start or warmed up. Sometimes I hear them and sometimes they're completely silent. I can't figure out how to replicate. I'll try and capture on video next time I hear it happening.
3. Weird issue, but I think might be normal. Sometimes the truck just can't find 4th gear going from 3rd to 4th and just floats there for a second or two. I think this is the only gear shift it does that in. Any recommendations?
4. PRNDM won't light up. Any idea where to start on this?
5. Looks like the truck was in a hail storm at some point. Roof needs some dent removal from it. Looks like windshield was replaced. Auto rain-sensing wipers won't really sense rain anymore. Any way to self-calibrate the sensor?
I am planning on doing a 100k mile service that will include:
1. Transmission fluid change
2. Rear Diff fluid change (and maybe seals replaced if needed)
3. Transfer case fluid change
4. Spark plug change
Any other recommendations, thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Really loving the truck, just need to give it some proper TLC at 100k!
