Called my local dealership and they wouldnt do it. Said they were told they are not allowed anymore. Assuming they just dont know how.

Anyone know of dealership in Oregon that does this? Mainly want to use the dealership for warranty purposes. I dont drive many miles so extended warranty will last me longer than the time I will probably have the truck.

I'm sure they could do it but ford prolly cracked down on em. I got a friend that works for my dealer and he told me they can do it but it's basically gonna be a bs excuse from ford to not warranty it if say you blow a shock or something like cv problems.

Any skilled mechanic or suspension shop could so this for ya for not too much. If u go to somewhere like a 4 wheel parts or other "hot brand" shop they might charge a bit more bit they can still do it. That way u can swap it back to stock just in case something does happen. The less ford knows the better.

I doubt it has anything to do with ford, probably just a dealership that didn't want to deal with it. My dealership adjusted mine to mid perch. And if ford tried to deny work based on that. They would have some explaining to do.

If u blow a shock and ur not on the stock setting than they can def void the warranty on it. They'll just say that because you increased the compression on the spring it caused the shock to fail because that's not how U got the truck from them it wasn't meant to be like that blah blah blah. Some dealerships are cool and won't care and if need be will just put it back to stock so that they can do the warranty work( assuming they adjusted it in the first place). They get paid a time and a half for every hour of warranty work so the dealerships love it. But before any warranty work can be done ford has to give the green light and sometimes they will send someone to inspect the truck themselves to make the decision on whether or not they would fix it under warranty. I had a set of stock cats clog up and fail on me. My buddy said warranty would cover it but someone from ford came by for some warranty audit shit and he said because I had cut the cats out and put them back on ford would not cover it. (I ran no cats for a few months). So if u adjusted the perch and something messed up I don't see how the same ideology wouldn't apply in terms of voiding warranty. Heck I've been through 3 leaf springs all covered under warranty because of a really bad squeaking issue and the fact that they're junk in the first place. I'm having the same problem and when I told my buddy about it he told me that ford told his dealership specifically that the infamous "squeaky lead spring" issue would no longer be covered under warranty. The noise has been deemed "acceptable and still functional". They recommend you pay them to lube it up now lol. No more new inserts or springs for me I guess....

Do what you want but I've played the warranty game with plenty of dealerships and I'd rather avoid the issue in entirety than even begin to go down that shit show of a road. I keep all my stock stuff and throw it back on if need be. Plausible deniability...that's my plan.

My friend technicians do not get extra for warranty work. My son is a master technician and he will tell you no technician likes warranty work as it pays so poorly.

Well this is all
Comin from my buddy from college who's my service guy at the dealership and another good friend who works as a tech for a gm dealer in San Antonio. He called it slag time. Ford recommends say 2 hours to do a brake job..tech can do it in less time and they still charge for the full 2 hours.

Dealerships will vary. The dealership who performed my mod cannot then void my warranty. It would be their fault. They would have denied the service if it voided warranty.

He must work at the miracle dealership. The issue is just the opposite of what you stated. Ford pays at a time rate of about half the time it takes the technician. Some warranty work pays the technician so little the "new guy" usually gets the bulk of that work b

Sadly the dealership is not the decision maker on warranty denial work. Ford makes those decisions and the dealer is not involved or has any say in the decision.
