Is there honestly a reason to use a local dealer these days? Do they offer any service incentives if you buy from them? I mean... maybe I just don't mind long road trips and think its a great way to take care of break in, get to know your vehicle and if you do it right, hit some cool off-road spots on the way home. I just can't see waiting more than a month for a mass produced vehicle. Even a month is pushing it for me. The two dealers I went to locally don't hardly get any allocations for Raps (they get plenty of GT500s). They wouldn't talk about anything under MSRP much less invoice so I didn't have much choice. They were sure they would get close to their $6,000 markup on their only 2010 which at the time was almost year old. Loonies!

Got my VIN this morning.

Build is schedule for week of February 13th. (maybe a Valentine's Day Truck?)

It is now listed as a Priority 01, so the guy told me unless there is an act of God, then it will get built that week.

I pushed hard on getting up there to take some pics of it being built, but apparently while they will roll out the carpet for me at the main Dearborn plant, the SVT skunkworks is strictly off limits to non-Ford employees, and cameras/camera phones are no go.

I have this very cool photo album of when my 599 was built, was hoping for same thing for Raptor.

counting the days...

The Raptor is built on the same line as the regular F150's.

No doubting the Raptor gets built on the same line as standard F150's....but SVT does do some work....otherwise why are they there and why isnt anyone allowed in to see builds? Just curious.

PS-if your truck has a VIN, into Priority 1 level....then the dealer is right, only "Force Majure" can slow it down.
