I LOVE Cresson! Thats my favorite track in Texas by far! (At least until they get the new F1 track built next year!)

Ducatisps, yeah, you hit the nail on the head! It exactly the same with GT500s, and what I have come to understand is-
Ford Motor Company has all the info you want and need to get, but you go to the guy that sold you the vehicle for information, and they know less about the actual car than you do. Almost always. Thats why I wont order a vehicle unless it is from someone who participates in the forums of that vehicle...Randy here on our site and on TeamShelby always has been a straight shooter. Its not Ford, its not necessarily the dealer, but its the end user, the salesman you deal with. Most are either too lazy to bother to find out information, or just not going to do it because it doesnt make them any more money. While repeat business is important, at least 80% of these guys spend a year or two at one dealer, then pick up and move to the next one hiring. They know you wont be back before they are gone, why go the extra distance, and if they are selling Toyotas in a year, why bother to folllow what Ford is doing while they are here.....crazy, right? Last dealership I went to a sales guy asked if he could help me, I was there to pick up a part and was looking at GT500s they had. To get him to move on, I told him I was holding out for an automatic GT500. He told me he could get me one, and had already sold three of them.

To me, what I want in a salesman is someone who can tell me more about a vehicle I want than I know, and then doesnt leave me in limbo once I walk into the finance manager's office to finish the deal. I dont need tricks or persuasion to buy a car. If Im there, Im there to buy probably. They dont need to tell me how this car runs on dreams and hopes....

I agree!!!! Ford pick-ups should follow the lead of Porsche!!!

Of course that means, we will pay 3 times what the truck is worth and even better; we get to enjoy the same styling from the 70s!!! :ROFLJest:

Porsche styling is Porsche styling, they've stuck to tradition (well, except for the Cayenne and Panamera). I appreciate that they don't radically change their styling, they just update it according to the times and technology.

I'm saying this as a big Porsche fan though, i've gotten to track-drive them hard and my Dad has been a Porsche enthusiast since before I was born (I turn 30 next month). But like most kids with good Dads, I tend to like the stuff he likes with a bias. He's owned at least a dozen Porsche's over the years and is a very picky guy when it comes to cars, I think there is something to be said for an automotive company that can keep a customer happy and coming back for 30+ years.

As for Ford, I dealt with a dealership owner and had a very positive experience, but got extra attention as he is a family friend. I think whether your dealer is good or bad, that last month/weeks/days before you get your Raptor are going to be very anxious times.... That seems to be the case with EVERYONE on FRF.

I went to my local dealer and was told " that he basically couldn't get one!" That I should get a Harley package one instead. Better yet was that he sold his last Raptor in '08. That's when I left.
The head mechanic is a Raptor lover and he takes good care of my truck when I bring it in for stuff.

Dealer SUCK! I always feel dirty after dealing with them.

Your right, they have a very loyal following, but I never "got it".

I have always felt they are overpriced VWs compared to other high performance cars. Every 911 I drove made me feel like a sardine, they are cramped as hell inside.

And to quote Jeremy Clarkson (who also does not think highly of them); "The porsche design team is the laziest group in the entire automotive industry!".

It is sad how poor service is. We are personal friends with the owners of the dealership and the service still is bad when they are trying hard.

Just yesterday I called 3 times to have my wife's 2012 Explorer looked at, 3 messages to service writer and not one return call. This morning I was fed up and called the owner. While it is now being handled I should not have to call the owner to get a simple warranty item serviced.

Even with my Hummer the dealer bent over backward to provide top drawer service. Mercedes was/is the same way. It most likely won't help but if enough people raise the point with corporate they may at least acknowledge the issues.

Again we would not have our Raptors now if I had not known someone that was willing to call and put pressure on corporate to change my orders to priority 1. As a couple of members here are still waiting after placing orders in August as I did, I count myself lucky now to have finally received it. However it still irritates me I had to wait till January for the trucks. 5 months for an order is unacceptable.

They make you think its special until you fork the money over. Then ****, to them its no different than another F150 work truck. The service department at the dealer I take my truck to is so horribly run that with a 7am appointment they can't guarantee they will LOOK at the vehicle that day!? Loaner? Oh, feel free to cross the street where you will find a car rental place. wait, WHAT? I came from an Infiniti where the worst loaner they could give me (FOR FREE) still had over 300hp and RWD. I couldn't believe it!

Here is where things get interesting/better...
I am lucky enough to have a Ford Commercial service department at the dealer that does all my service. I stumbled upon it on accident with their phone menu. WOW. NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE. It is ran like a proper service department. They do all the Commercial and FRP related tasks for the dealership. The guy that runs the place is easy to talk to, knows what he is talking about and gets things done. I'm not sure how strict all of them are about private/commercial vehicles but its definitely worth a try if you have one near by.

You think that's BS? My dad bought a LP560-4 last year... Brand new. Guess what loaner our "official" Lamborghini dealer gives us. Just take a wild guess. I can assure you that it's not newer than a 2000.
