Having been around for quite a few years I have seen how it is almost common place for companies to fudge travel #'s in an attempt to push sales their way. Now I am not saying that this is happening here, but anyone who does not understand or acknowledge this is kinda in the dark.

We advertise 16.5" of clean usable travel on our Raptor long travel kit. If we were to measure it the "jack stand" / "metal to metal" / "fluff o matic" / "the computer says it" / "big numbers means more sales" / "use the long travel measurement tape" way, we would be at the 18.5"-19" number. That would be a metal to metal # not a usable travel #. Some highlights of our system-

No loss in ground clearance
Retains the stock coil bucket - Easy to return to stock
2" wider per side
4130 construction
Tig welded
Here is some more info on our kit Raptor Long Travel by SDHQ

Same goes with the rear sprung under system we have developed. Depending on the rear bedside & tire size we are working with, we will get 16.5"-17.5" of clean usable travel out of our sprung under system using Deaver springs. The Deaver springs on this application are not designed to work properly with any number north of that. This is not only based on our experience but also straight from the designer of the springs, Deaver.

Also it is not always about the #'s but rather the correct set up... You can run circles around a truck that is not set up correctly even if they are running twice your properly set up travel number..

A raptor that was another 3 or 4" wider would have been absolutely awesome.

One thing that I think I am missing here, is that on long travel kits that I have browsed through on the net for Chevy/dodge/whoever alot of them have a bump stop on the front end also... why havent I seen this in the Raptor stuff?

The raptor was built as wide as the ford production line would allow without a major overhaul. As for the front bump stops, they are incorporated into the front shock.

I like that upper control arm design...

Was your kit designed around "ruts that trophy trucks leave in the desert" too?

I almost died when I read that.. Ha!

LOL... I'm alway the ass for pointing that stuff out.. Glad to see that I'm not the only one that catches the "sick bra, gnar gnar, monster & hair gel" sales wording...

The upper arm was designed to be beefy enough to handle a bump if that was the set up they wanted to go with.

Ours is running a bump, if you look at the pics it is the red part between the coil over & bypass.

SPRSNK do you have the H&M or BMS built Outlaw kit?

Even though I'm not a fan out Outlaws I'd put their kit on before RPG's and Brenthal's.
It sounds like Outlaw now stands behind their product and the shop building the kits are top notch. BMS has been around a long time.
RPG has yet to show true #'s(tape measure) with their kit that i know of and I HIGHLY doubt they cycled 19" strapped.
Personally I wouldnt touch anything Brenthal builds as I've heard of way to many issues with their work.

My truck has a front track width of 92" and it steers predictably AND handles great on road and off road, and it's definately "Driveable" because I drive it everyday.ha!
what you might find interesting is the engineers at Ford that were involved in designing
the Raptor actually wanted it to be WIDER... the reason the Raptor has the track width that it does, is simply because it is the widest they could make it while still fitting
on the standard F150 production lines.....

I have not had the chance to meet SODRTY but I know some about him, I believe what he posts.

I love the RPG= blah blah blah
You are so right, even I was fooled. Too many drinking the RPG cool aid here to realize the truth.

So RPG where were the front axles at S.E.M.A. ? On the Spectacular Chris
Ross Build ? Oh they didn't come in yet.............Uh huh.
I crawled all under that truck while on the phone with Corey while at S.E.M.A. also have pics

I have driven the Outlaw Raptor long travel kit, on and off road.
It works.
It HAS been tested.
It HAS BEEN PROVEN TO WITHSATND THE TESTING OF SPRSNK
I drove the Outlaw Raptor long travel kit on highway from Barstow, Ca to San Ana, Ca and then from Santa ana, Ca to Las Vegas, Nv all on Highway.
Drives like a dream
And Yes Outlaws Long travel has been tested for a year on ? 2 or more trucks

And another thing Jarret from RPG STOP YOUR SLANDEROUS LIES ABOUT CONNER, RAPTOR EXPEDITIONS, AND OUTLAW OFF ROAD !
