I got my R in Aug. '23. Changed oil in September when I hit 1k miles. I have a total of 3200 miles on it today. Amsoil 5w50 with roughly 2200 miles on the oil. Oil life is down to 18%. I'm guessing it's set to a year OR 5K miles from the factory? I'm tempted to reset the oil life and just change it @ 5K and go every 5K from there.
Does anyone think my oil should be changed with only 2200 miles on it? That isn't cheap either!

Warranty wise it is 12m or miles driven between oil changes. After warranty with semi regular use I might let it go 18m depending on how stored. All the stuff in modern oil probably breaks down and causes issues. Best way to truly know is oil analysis and compare after 12/18/24m if driven rarely. Good luck with the Raptor

My 24R was changed about 4k miles ago, warning just went off saying I'm at 5% oil life. Not sure what the interval is set to.

What is the factory oil change interval supposed to be on the R? I would never go with the 10k interval on the 3.5 …good grief. Does the R have a 5K ford maintenance interval?

The oil life is monitor is based on time. That’s it. Change it once a year or every 5K, whatever comes first. If it were me, chose an oil that contains military grade storage protection as a good measure.

I change my oil about every 8.000km / 5.000miles**. Sometimes the oil life monitor is 0%, like now, sometimes +10%.
The oil coming out looks almost like the oil which is going in. I know it does not tell the whole story, but have seen different.
** First change after approx. 1.000km, that is always a good idea and the oil filter they mount from factory is significantly smaller then the Ford OEM filter for this engine.

Yes, it's based on time. 1 yr. In my case since I do t go 5K in a year. '23 with 4100 miles and I've already done 2. Down to 60% already. Oil change #2 was only 3200 miles!

I know for a fact this is false. I've owned my Raptor for several years and over 100,000 miles. In that time I've had years that it was rode HARD and also towed, and years that it basically sat in a garage. The OLM acted vastly different depending on the year. "Intelligent" OLM means just that. It isn't just a timer! It factors idle time, load, whether a trailer is attached, operating temp, outdoor temp, drive mode operated in, among others. I am proof. I got a full year (the maximum the olm allows between oil changes under pampered conditions) before it said oil change due, and as short as 3 months! I've gotten years and 6 digit mileage of use trusting only the OLM. In years past (early variation of the olm) it was a timer. The versions have evolved over the years. It is NOT just a timer now. Even the dang owners manual mentions the factors taken into account on monitoring the engine oil. Change oil/filter with quality synthetic when it screams at you on the dash. Otherwise, just drive it and worry about other things in life.
