Anyone else have this happen?

I remote start the truck. Press unlock button and open drivers door, as soon as I close the door the truck shuts off. I have to start it up again manually.

I've also had it happen as soon as my butt hits the seat, before I close the door. Literally, sit in the seat, truck shuts off.

And I am doing this WAY before the 10 minute auto-shutoff period.

Anyone else dealt with this before?

Not on my Raptor, but I do randomly get this in my 2011 Explorer Limited. As soon as I get in and shut the door it turns off, but it doesn't do this everytime. I have the remote start set at 15mins and I'm getting in at about the 10min mark.

I've found a few videos for fixing the problem on the regular F150's but its a different remote start, and there isn't a "config" button to be found under the drivers dash.

its very annoying, like why start it if its just going to shut off and have to be restarted again as soon as I get in...

I was just thinking maybe the underhood switch is out of adjustment and its moving around giving a false open hood signal which would shut it down

I'm having much more consistent luck if I am pressing the unlock button on the key fob TWICE before I try to enter the truck. So far I think its worked correctly 100% of the time if I press that unlock button twice and make sure all doors are unlocked before I try to open the door and enter the vehicle.

I just fixed the issue on my Explorer. I found it was a park switch in the shifter column was acting up. Pretty much during remote start the switch would tell the computer that the car was trying to be taken out of park before key was turned to run. How I found it was it would also alarm out and say "shift to park" after turning car off even with shifter in park. Unfortunately on the Explorer the only way to get a new sensor is to buy the whole shifter column. There is a TSB out for the sensor but it doesn't show F150's on the list but this could be your problem.

This, take it apart and clean it out. Over the years you can spill things or it gets dirty.

Works more often, but still had the truck shut off on me again as soon as I sat in the drivers seat.

Also, the bigger issue is that the truck doesn't remote start at all probably half the time. It flashes the parking lights twice with one beep of the horn.

I replaced my battery in the key fob for good measure, no change, truck still randomly decides to give me the shaft.

did you check your hood switch yet? if the horn beeps and it doesn't start, it means the truck is telling you "no, remote start isn't available because the hood is open, or its the third time you're trying to start, or check engine light is on"
