I did the test drive today, it was pretty much what I expected, a nice truck. Nothing really surprising, right where I expected it.

I'm running this idea past a few friends of mine and one made a reference to this vehicle being the modern day H3 Hummer. Sure everything thinks it's cool at the time, but in 5-10 years when the next thing is running circles around it, will we be the ones getting the funny looks?

I guess in a way, it is sort of a valid statement? Don't get me wrong, I'm not trashing the Raptor as I'll probably buy one...more of a discussion point.

Or buy a used truck with aftermarket goodies and pocket a huge amount of money.

What about the counter of "well you could have bought a used xyz" and have a "better" truck for half the price! etc etc etc

more off road capable, perhaps more fun to drive (i.e. stick shift for those who prefer that - I am one)

things like that

I really think your going over board with this, just buy it and enjoy it for yourself, who cares what other people think. If it puts a smile on your face then that should be good enough! I know mine never fails to make me smile especially when people in BMWs and Mercedes are pointing and taking pictures of it.

Agreed...I should have warned in my original post that I tend to go OCD and beat a decision to death before making a purchase lol
