I think everyone is not looking at the big picture here. SVT is gone!!!! To me that's a much bigger deal than any 2017 vehicle! It sucks butt!!!

I think it is a huge mistake. When I heard SVT, I immediately thought of the SVT Lightning pickup, the Raptor and all the other great SVT products. That SVT Lightning is still badass after all these years. Seems like Ford is taking this global crap a little to serious. Sad to see it go.

While the new engine is no 6.2l V8. - The 3.5 twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 might have a uniquely awesome sound. Who knows, maybe the people at Ford have managed to create a badass sound for a smaller engine. I'm sure it'll sound different, but I bet it still has that deep throaty growl we loved on the old gen Raptor. Ford know what they're doing. All of this is just to gather attention, to get people talking and when the time is right, Just when we think we're out, they'll PULL US BACK IIINNN!

Personally, I think we all actually should just reserve judgement until we've actually seen and heard the new Raptor in action. More HP and Torque. Surely that can't be a bad thing, right? Either way, I'm actually excited for the new Raptor. :)

It makes me hungry for getting another Raptor when they come out.

I wouldn't bet the farm that the older Raptors will outrun the newer ones. There is a lot to be said for the performance of the Eco Boost 6 with twin turbos, especially if there are plans to beef it up from what I have in my 2013 Explorer Sport. Don't forget the new one will be 500 lbs lighter.

As for the noticeable missing of the SVT name on the new one... I find that odd myself. Only Ford will be able to answer that.

Wow some of you guys are really piling it on now lol!

I think it will grow on more of you with time. Maybe instead of totally giving up on either the styling or the engine, maybe we should seriously make a list of final production changes we'd like to see. Maybe our photoshop/artist guys can adjust the pre-production model and incorporate our changes into a few different selections that can be forwarded off to Ford.

1. Tweak the front grill: Less Super Duty look (narrower and longer?)
2. Remove the big FORD on the tailgate (personally I don't mind it) or maybe keep the 'two tone' but remove the lettering or ???
3. Sharpen up a few angles (be specific)
4. Hood - Two vents again?
5. Better wheels - Beadlock option for sure!
6. Optional 5.0 to 5.4L V8 with at least as much horsepower as the Mustang GT 5.0 (435hp) Preferably 450hp+

Personally, I'm excited the more I think about it. No not about the TTV6 but a more powerful motor in a lighter truck with 3.0 shocks, more suspension travel, new 4x4 system (assume better), 10 speed (is this really better?) and a newer interior (I love mine so anything even better is just a bonus as far as I'm concerned).

I think more will be excited when they announce the Raptor will have say 450hp and 520ft/lbs and then all of a sudden we're talking 500hp with a few mods in a 500lb+ lighter truck. C'mon guys, it'll be fun off-road with those numbers won't it lol! I know the motor is a huge deal and it still is with me but to be perfectly honest, even our current Raptors don't sound nowhere near as good as the old pushrod v8's. They sound is decent at start up and lower rpms but no deep rumble, especially at higher rpms. So even that has been an adjustment for me. My 88 Mustang GT sounded with stock exhaust sounded much better than my 2013 Raptor with after market exhaust. So it is all relative.

I will admit that I would never give up my Gen 1 Raptor for this one, but I may very well add it to the stable.
