Some of you guys sound like such whiners. A month after you have them.,.. You will have them.... It will be the greatest truck ever invented., which it is. I agree I love the look of the gen1, but we have scene one color one cab configuration. They didn't turn it into a Prius. It's been upgraded in every way. If you read the article on the engine it's hard not to be impressed. It is going to be one hell of a truck.

They could have given us the Ram Rebel! Check out that beauty.

Surprised more people don't like the rear exit exhaust. Besides it in a more likely spot to get crushed it will also be in the best spot to blow hot exhaust on you while hooking a trailer or loading the tailgate. Never liked trucks with rear exit exhaust for this reason.

What a complete disappointment for me. I get it that the new eco-boost technology has some great numbers and performance.. Absolutely no doubt. However, It all boils down to presentation for me. You cannot beat the sound of the 6.2l engine. IMHO.. I have surfed over many a youtube video on exhaust set ups and far and away the 6.2l was the most aggressive and cool sounding of all trucks.. I have headers and borla exhaust on mine because of it. That sound is just the ultimate finish to an ultimate truck.. It really makes the truck. Simply put........ It is the final piece of the Bad ass dream truck . A sound that matches the performance and has put smiles on truck enthusiasts every time you step on the gas. I know mine does... Just utter happiness.

Having said that,, The eco-boost exhaust is the most god awful sound I have ever heard. To me, it sounds like a diesel or a hopped up John Deere lawnmower. Even with aftermarket exhaust added. It still sounds like crap and for the life of me cannot see myself being happy with that. The new Raptor is a nice looking truck for the most part, but I can't wrap myself around the thought of pulling up somewhere with something so badass sounding so lame ass. It just doesn't seem right.

The raptor has become an icon that has shaped a generation with its tough looks and sound. And now it seems that is gone, disappointing truck guys everywhere. You just can't beat the sound of a V8 and goes hand in hand with the Raptor... or any F-150 for that matter. I will never own an Eco boost.
not trying to call anyone out on your opinions but........

just saying

Don't blame Ford. Blame Obama and the EPA.

Same look

They softened all the hard edges and made it look like everything else out there. The Gen 1 always had it's own individual look. I have a Tacoma and one of the first mods I did was add a custom "Satoshi" grill but the majority of the guys on the forums wanted the "Raptor look" grill. There will be no need to try and copy the Raptor look at this point...
And I like having a big V8 that sucks gas, sounds badass, and ****** off the Eco-geeks! V6 just doesn't do it for me no matter how advanced, economical, or spunky it is. Just my .02

The front end kind of looks like this guy in my opinion.

I still like the concept of the '17 Raptor

While I can't say I like everything on the truck (tailgate, wheels, exhaust), I don't exactly think it's a horrible truck either. What about the guys who did an ecoboost engine swap on their 1st gen? Weren't they all applauded for dropping in a 6? What about the SDHQ Eco raptor? IMHO, that truck was badass and didn't sound that bad at all. I think the ecoboost is a great concept, and I think ford is going to ride this for a while. I am sad to see no svt on this truck, that's kind of what made the 1st gens as cool as they are.

Remember though, when ford first introduced the raptor it had a 5.4. If history repeats itself, we may see a v8 added to the lineup.

Six Banger??? Oh well guess that kills it for me. Was really looking forward to getting one and had actually been warming up to the aluminum. Pretty evident FORD is going to build this for what 95% or more of Raptors are used for. Cruising on the street.

Hate to see it but Ford has really bought into the V6 turbo for everything. Maybe when the sales fall off the V8 will be an option. Who knows some people like the "ringy dingy" sound--just not me. Plus modifications to that motor will be more of a challenge. No replacement for displacement.

I am disappointed to say the least. This one screams Street Queen nothing special about it! Am sure the "press" will just LOVE IT! As stated above--"street queen boy" types will love it!
