Im just embracing the inevitable. The big v8 is going to die because of the EPA and government standards, simple as that.

I never said turbos are superior but they are damn good at making power. I own modded v8s in Jeeps and a modded Subaru so Ive seen both worlds in depth.

Would I rather Ford keep the 6.2? Of coarse. Is it going to happen? No. So instead of bitching about it Im moving forward and embracing the new changes.

No amount of bitching is going to get ford to drop a heavy v8 into the new Raptor over the lighter more powerful ecoboost especially when the EPA demands high fuel efficiency standards in the near future.

Dude, you need to grow a spine and at least own that shit. Just so everyone is on the same page I'm going to post your first post on this forum here so the audience can come to it's own conclusions. You clearly have been a fan of a turbo v-6 set-up from the get-go so dont try to BS us with this "of coarse i love the 6.2" crap.

Your first post:
"I wouldnt mind a turbo motor. My first Raptor will be in a couple years when my wife finally graduates Pharmacy school and I wouldnt mind the V6 turbo motor. There is A LOT of mods you can do to a turbo'ed motor that you cant do with a NA motor. If you want to get some real power you have to turbo or supercharge a NA motor and go from there (unless you pull the motor and do some hella expensive work or replace it all together). If you have a turbo from the factory you have a bunch of options from the beginning that you dont have with a NA motor until its turbo'ed or supercharged. Putting a turbo or supercharger on a factory NA motor is a lot of cash. You can get more power out of a factory turbo motor than a NA motor for a lot less money since you dont have to make the initial investment on a turbo or supercharger. I own a couple v8 vehicles right now and a turbo'ed subaru and the power that comes with a turbo is addicting. Modding a turbo vehicle is addicting. Its a different kind of power. Boost is addicting.

Yeah the Raptor is a big bad truck that everyone thinks needs a v8 but if it comes with a v6 turbo the v8 guys are going to be left in the dust, its as simple as that.

I, for one, welcome a v6 turbo with open arms."

When you put in 4a that is basically in AWD mode. The clutch system in the transfer case will control the power delivery to the front and rear wheels.

Normally you would just drive in 2wd, but if you were in questionable situation where the roads were dry for instance but there were chances of ice or snow then 4a would make sense. You would just get reduced MPG.

4H would be for situations where you are not on hard pavement

can you clarify what is '4a'? never heard of it.

Yes, Im a fan of boost. Always have been always will be. But do I think the v8 is a better fit for the Raptor's personality? Of coarse. Do I think losing the v8 will ruin the truck? Absolutely not. Just because I think a tt v6 will fit the Raptor doesnt mean I dont think its out of place being in the Raptor.

Ill just keep the one I got. If it comes with 500hp, I will just put on SVC's Whipple package and still have a better truck. Other than the Fox 3.0s, it seems like a city boy's truck

4a utilizes the clutch system in the Transfer case to distribute the power between front and rear tires. This will make it easier for you to turn while in 4x4 mode. Its basically what AWD vehicles use.

4H locks the transfer case and you have equal power to front and rear at all times. When you are not on hard pavement 4h is what you want for off road use.
