what kind of test light? one that goes into you cigar lighter or one that goes to ground?

First picture is the ground, second is connection to the under hood wire, third I pulled the wires up to check if they may be shorting out at the spliced connection. fourth is connection under the dash small brown wire to purple. last picture is just the plug connection.

do u have a continuity tester?

I have a multi meter, I will see if it has that. Not sure how to use it though for continuity.

Its the one with the ground.

if u can figure out how to use it try this. with the switch OFF disconnect the plug goin to the light. now on the FEED side put one tester lead on the power(red) wire and the other on ur ground. if u read continuity then u have a dmamged power wire and should replace it.

Strange that the up-fitter switch lights up even though the fuse is blown?

OK, so the Multi-meter shows that the wiring is good according to the continuity tests.
The problem is that Rigid has the wiring backwards in the light plug socket so when plugged in it shorts out.

o ok. yeah that was my next thought turn on the switch while the light is unplugged. glad u got it figured out
