Believe that if the Raptor is close to empty a turn could cause the miles remaining to register a " 0 " and that's an instant shutoff.

Whoa. The computer will comman a shutoff even if there's still gas in the tank? Can somebody confirm/deny this, please? I've read elsewhere that the miles-to-empty display is very accurate and that you will strand yourself if you ignore it when it gets into the single digits. If what Debate says is true, then Raptors should never be run further than when the miles-to-empty is in the teens. The Owners Manual warns against running the tank dry.

Absolutely not!!!! N o way would that happen!!! THe law suits would be rampant!!!! The fuel register does not tell the PCM how much fuel is left it only tells the driver an estimate of what is left...

I've run my truck and other vehicles WELL past the 0 mark to see how far II can go afterwards. Completely incorrect information. Don't talk unless you know what you're talking about.

NEGATIVE. The truck will not "instantly shutoff".

I've seen my miles at 0 and still got to the gas station (a few more miles away). I was on an extreme downhill, though so not sure what that positioning does with the remaining fuel level. All of the stories on here and I was expecting the truck to stall as soon as I hit 0. But, it didn't (thank god).

Yes. The bottom of the tank keeps the fuel pump from overheating; last couple gallons belong to the pump.

Well, it does work that way but its not gallons... its like a quart... There is a plastic reservoir that holds the pump bathed in fuel which helps keep the pump cool and acts as a supply cup so the engine doesnt get starved of fuel on turns or hills...
They went from a return system to a PCM regulating system where the PCM varies the speed of the pump biased on what the throttle calls for and there is no need for a return fuel line... Been a while since ive worked on the fuel system and the way Ford changes things it might be different now... LOL
