My experience with my 2012 with torsen verses my old 2011 without in snow and ice. I feel a lot more confident in the 2012 in 4wd (unlocked rear diff) on snow and ice than 2011 in 4wd. The best way I can describe the difference is the 2012 feel like a front wheel drive car. You can actually feel the truck being pulled verses the 2011 is being pushed. The power is going to the wheels with grip, and sliding (drifting) the front end is harder to in the 2012 verses the 2011.
The bad part is that it is still a 3 ton truck, and the great traction/acceleration gives a sense of over confidence. Until you apply the brakes at it becomes a big sloppy pig with stock tires. Using tow/haul and engine brake works better than just using the brakes in slick conditions.
No one has officially confirmed any changes in the traction control system between 2010-11 and 2012. There seems to be some tweeking to abs system and traction control system to work with the torsen.

That is correct Greg, ford adjusted the abs to apply slight braking when a wheel looses traction, this enables the torsen to keep the traction. The wavetrac does this internally, so it does not need to work with the braking system. I am glad you brought the pull vs push sensation up in winter conditions. I think this will be a great part of the attraction of both the torsen and the wavetrac. Front wheel traction is a lot more efeective in the snow and ice.
However, I live on the damn beach in Cabo so I will be running in the sand.
