Yeah and I just want to bring some awareness to it and maybe we can get something done about it. As consumers we don't really just have to take the L and move on, we can make some noise about it. Owning a Raptor should not be a worrisome, scary experience. It's not like any car manufacturer can make cars immune to theft, I get that, but this design flaw makes our trucks an easy target because criminals know about the design flaw and are taking advantage of it. It makes our trucks a target above and beyond other cars. Thieves will pass over other vehicles and look for ours specifically, know what I'm saying? It's about a reasonable expectation of security/safety.

It doesn't help that its a safe bet that you can often find a firearm in a Raptor... Don't think criminals haven't caught on to that as well. The OP was lucky he had a vault!

If you’re getting jimmi jammers you may want to get the one for the tailgate also. It’s also just as easy to remove a tailgate and apparently there is a ready market for those and it’s an expensive item to replace.

If someone wants to get in, they will. There's no amount of engineering that will fix that. If there's no weak points in the lock assembly, they'll just break the glass. You can break into any automobile by breaking the glass.

The point is having a design flaw with the lock that makes it take 3 seconds to break into the truck makes our trucks a prime target. Otherwise they might pass our truck by and break into something else. A lot of thieves don't like to break windows because it's noisy and it's a guaranteed alarm. When they broke into my truck the alarm never went off.

I saw your thread with your Raptor being stolen in less than 24 hours and it sucks how much easier it is to break in to a the Gen2 Raptors. I guess the latest generation of F-150's are even easier to break in to now.

The 2010-2014 was fairly easy to break in to as well. I guess Ford didn't care enough to address such a huge shortcoming on the 2015+ trucks.

@Wfo got a link for the Jimmy Jammers?[/QUOTE

Could replace the driver side handle with one that doesn't have a key hole. Eliminates the punched lock

I considered doing this but not sure what I’d do if the battery dies after I jimmy and lock proof the truck. Break the window?

If you're going to do all the other stuff, I wouldn't. If you wanted to just replace the handle and eliminate the lock hole, then yeah. If the battery dies (how many times has this happened to you, ever?) I'd call pop a lock and have them airbag the door.

Yesterday while I was at work, I got an alert on my phone from the Ford Pass App that said "Alarm Triggered... security system has detected a threat and triggered the alarm."...

Luckily, the thief couldn't get into the safe and once the alarm went off, he was gone. He didn't touch any of the other items in my console or glove compartment. Based on the way he entered my vehicle and the fact that he went straight for my console, I believe he was a pro looking for a firearm but he only had 5-10 seconds before the alarm was triggered....

Do you know what triggered your alarm? Do you have the Ford Ultrasound "Perimeter Plus" system upgrade? I am under the impression that if the door lock is twisted after getting punched in then the alarm gets disabled since the truck thinks a key unlocked the door.
