My Raptor got broken into

can you clarify -how- they opened the door?

did they just force turn the lock cylinder with a screw driver?
or
did they pull the handle and channel lock rotate the lock to unlock the door?

I can't speak for @FrodoTBaggins88, but in my case it looks like they punched the cylinder in, then pried the handle out enough to get channel lock pliers on the lock and twist it open. You can see the plier teeth marks on the lock.

I'm of the opinion the perimeter security upgrade set on hair trigger is the best bet for dissuading would-be thieves. Also have the added benefit of teaching people not to touch other people's trucks. Although I've accidentally bumped into a car and set off the alarm before...

Problem is if you live in a windy area (I live in Hurricane, UT the name is no joke) it goes off incessantly. One of my old neighbor's Cadillac used to go off day and night every time there was a breeze, not fun.

In CA and haven’t had any issues with my Raptor and even have an NRA life member sticker on the back window. It seems like TX has had a lot of Raptor break ins based on the recent forum posts. The other guy left the key fob in the glove box or the dealer did and that makes for an easy target.

Yeah that enabled them to start the truck but it doesn't negate the fact that the poor lock design is what made the truck a target to begin with. It was a brand new truck with literally nothing inside to steal. They didn't look in the windows and see some stuff they wanted, they just target Ford trucks because it's so damn easy to break into them.

I'm in the process of getting my lock and handle repaired at my auto shop.

The Jimmi Jammer, Punch Plug, Gate Keeper and Perimeter Plus Security System will be installed by the end of the week.

I'm considering removing the cylinder all together and replacing the driver handle with passenger handle like this video...

and an additional tracking device. The camera would be useful for other purposes like if I need to have the truck worked on at the dealership.

All snarkiness aside, if I was a thief and found one of these jimmy-jammers in a car I was trying to break into, that would be my sign there is good shit in there and I'm definitely going through the window. I'll even make sure to have a pry tool ready to get into the console safe because there is a very good chance there is a handgun in there.

The answer no one here wants to hear, but the best theft deterrent is to not drive a flashy, rich guy's truck that attracts thieves when in areas with lots of breakins.

We all know this already, but you're missing the point. Having a lock design that a clinically retarded monkey can defeat with a screwdriver in 3 seconds makes your vehicle a prime target. Otherwise they may just pass your truck over if they don't see anything of value through the windows. The police in SA said they rarely see broken windows anymore. They don't need to break the windows because Ford gave them an easy way in that sometimes doesn't even set off an alarm.

BTW I have owned a 2015 Nissan GT-R, a Porsche Cayman, and an Audi R8 and lived and worked in downtown Atlanta for most of my life. No one ever bothered any of my stuff.

Sure, we all know a thief can get into any vehicle if he's determined enough. But in my opinion, these guys aren't going to spend significant time ******** with your lock system or drawing attention to themselves by breaking a window. They want to be in, out and gone in a matter of seconds.

And it goes without saying that a Raptor is going to be a bigger target than a 1990 Corolla. For what it's worth, I'm not in a bad part of town and I haven't heard of anyone else at this building being broken into. This happened in the middle of the day in a parking lot where there are 2 other Raptors, a Tesla, a Maserati, and countless other Mercedes, BMW, Audis, Lexus, etc.

Anyone look up the part number for the passenger side door handle (doesn't have the cylinder) to put on the driver's side? I believe it is the following and would just need to be painted to match...
