The thing with the Velociraptor is we didn't get to see if one aux switch controlled both the open and closed functions on the circuit of the actuator. Or in other words one switched might of opened it and another closed it. If it was done this way then replicating it would be easy. I want to make it so
"off" is closed and "on" is open, but the issue is the momentary switch part. On paper I can make the two way aux reverse the polarity to open and close the actuator, but it wouldn't be momentary (which would eventually burn it up). It starts to become more work then its worth IMO so I kinda gave up on it. (I will be interested to see if autowerks can come up with a simple-ish solution). If I really had the time and money I would run the actuator on a rpm window switch, have it closed at idle and up to 2500 rpm where it would open. No low end lost of power.

i was discussing this with my buddy last night who is a mechanical engineer, he says there's about 3 different ways we could make it work with one switch. 2 mechanical and one with a micro controller. forgive me if i just smiled and nodded my head as he explained it to me. we might give it a shot when I'm ready. he seemed to think it was "super easy"

How do you like the Kooks and how was the install?

Good quality and guys to work with....install was not the easiest and there was some cussing involved...the entire job, qtp and all was 12-14 hours...or on the autowers beer scale of difficulty, this was an 12 beer job

I hear ya on that, I've done long tube installs on Mustangs but have only scouted out the Raptor's obstacles. I'm hoping to employ a friend of mine who's got a little shop and lift at his house. I saw somewhere that a guy put Kooks on his and he had to relocate the dipstick holding bracket....you run into that or any other little things?

Sweet! If he can get it to where its not a big pita or cost a bunch that would be great.

You are correct, we did need to relocate the dipstick and the motor needed to be cranked up a bit....other than that and some pesky heat shields, just another day modding a truck....

Did the Kooks Y-pipe connect directly to the stock exhaust without modifying? Need more description of the supercharger results!

fitment from block to ypipe was perfect. we needed to fab up a little extension from the y to connect it to the stock exhaust. not a big deal at all.....we built a new tune for it last night and will load it into the truck this morning. if it is running well i will get some video and post it up today....
