I installed the update Sunday night, no issues, took about 25 min. Monday morning when I started up I got an audio version of the legal disclaimers that to see on a lot of NAV systems. I was worried that I'd get it on every startup but it only happened once. Have others heard this.

I'd say that the screen is much more responsive. One small example, we use the seat coolers every time we drive. With 3.5 you would push the touch screen and like 5 seconds later the display would update showing the speed setting of the seat fan. Now it's instantaneous.

I had minor issues with my Sony system, mostly after using remote start. At least 4 or 5 times I would lose all control of audio for a few minutes. Remote start, system looks to be working ok, and then the screen would go black and no control of audio functions. I also had a couple of times when the NAV live map would freeze for several minutes while in use. One time I went several miles with lots of turns. Time will tell of these issues were fixed...joe

Hope the factory is installing 3.6 now :). Otherwise this will be the first thing that happens when it arrives.

Anyone else having a really hard time downloading this update? I can't seem to get this downloaded. I've tried 3 different machines, 2 different USB drives, three different browsers. I gets to a point and just stalls. Is Ford's download server this bad?

MFT v3.6

I saw on the Ford Facebook page yesterday that version 3.6 of MFT was available. I went to the support.ford.com page and it was available. I downloaded it and installed it last night so I haven't had much time to play with it.

There are no obvious changes that I can see but it does seem to run a little smoother. It was a little quicker on using the bluetooth and it seemed to come back from the rear view a little smoother. Though most likely it is just because I want it to be a little different.

The install was pretty easy it says that it wants a empty usb drive with of at least 2GB in size. It said it wanted it empty so I used a different one than the one I use to store all my music. I didn't want it to try to format itself and clear all my music off it so I didn't take the chance. It took about 30 mins in the truck to install all of the stuff. It restarts the system about 4 or 5 times. It also wants the truck running(not in ACC mode) it even says so.

As I use it a little more I will see if anything else new stands out.

It may seems like at times that it is stalling. Will stick at a certain percent for awhile, then jumps like 15% or so at a time. At least that's what was happening when I downloaded it this morning. I just left it DL in the background while working.

Make sure you allow the Java extensions ect..

Good luck.

Also make sure your Flash drive is empty and formatted correctly.

I got mine to work in my 2013 Superduper. Seems more responsive. Sirius shows the artist and name of song when on the home screen. Not sure what else yet.

Yeah, I have formatted the drive several times. Tried to download it on my home machine last night, I just left it running while I went to bed. The machine went to sleep because there was no activity. Tried at work yesterday and today. It gets to 5%, and stalls out. I have read that there are stalls at 5% and 38% reported by others on the net. How long they are though, no one seems to know. Looking at time stamps, I'm about 25 minutes here on 5% so far on this try. I'll use my other machine at home tonight and see if I can get it. That one is set to not go to sleep. I hate this. I work in IT too. shame...
Someone should put this out on a torrent. It would download a lot faster. All kinds of Ford forums are lighting up with the update info.

From my earlier post:

Helpful note:
(make sure you have Java installed correctly on your PC with all six browser plug-ins installed!!!! and run the remove old versions tool from Oracle!!!)

I would only use IE Browser for this to work smoothly.

Thanks. I'll give it a shot again tonight when I get home.
