Why the **** do MFT owners get a free nav update when we have to pay $200? Some ********. Especially since they released the update a couple mounts after my build date

I just installed the update... there didn't appear to be a "nav update", just SYNC and MFT functionality fixes.

I may have been able to order a new SD Nav because my wife and daughter have been giving the dealer hell for the Nav losing it's self and always rebooting.
It could be the dealer put in a job order for the SD replacement.

But as I stated in an earlier post the dealer did not upgrade my daughter's Escape to 3.5.1
And the A4 SD Nav will not work with MFT 3.0.2

Updated my Sync to the new software today. Took me about 40 minutes to do everything. Fairly straight forward. Your truck will need to be running for the entire installation. It includes several reboots so don't plan on having consistent audio or nav. Once installed, I didn't notice much of a difference. Only a few minor cosmetic things. I didn't have a lot of problems with Sync before the upgrade though. It did wipe all my paired devices (iPhone and iPad) and I had to reset some of the preferences (Voice Command & 911 Assist).

Yeah. it's a pretty big service pack update.

Ford tells you somewhere, to un-pair everything anyway.
And it's recommended to do a Master Reset before upgrading to remove any glitches that may have grown worst,
by playing around with trying to get it to work right.

The one improvement I saw right away was, when your in reverse and the sensors go off it high lights the quadrant that's too close to something.
If your vehicle is equipped with that.

Warning

It trashed my hard drive based music library. I have a 1TB drive that I exported the AIFF version of my iTunes library to. Using dBpoweramp I converted the AIFF's to WMA, equalized and volume leveled everything and had the cover art updated. It took about 50 hours for my computer to complete all of this. It is now unusable with the update. It says it can't play protected content and endlessly indexes. It worked fine in MFT v3.5. I'm starting the whole conversion process over again to see what happens.

You should not have to do a conversion of any kind, MFT plays ACC files.

But you might want to look into that Sync utility tool for iTunes.

Yes, it does. Sort of. I have an iPod Classic full of AAC files that have been volume leveled using iVolume. This played perfectly, including recognizing the volume leveling, in my 2005 Pioneer AVIC-Z1 (a Windows based system) and it plays perfectly in my Kicker Boombox. Unfortunately the MFT doesn't recognize the iPod's volume leveling. This complaint has been on the various MFT forum boards for years. If I want to risk blowing my system I can attempt to always stay on top of the volume as tracks change. This is less than ideal as you eventually forget and get massive levels of volume change. So my solution was converting my source AIFF files to WMA and then volume leveling. A work around that I'm not the least bit happy with having to do.

Did the update today. My second update since new, and i finally have the Raptor SVT startup screen. That was worth the 30 min. idling in the garage right there. Didn't have any problems before the update. Hope it stays that way with the new update.

I sure hope that my clock sync issue with the satellite will be fixed with this update. The MFT clock has been UNRELIABLE since the last update. What a PITA!!

Looking forward to the Raptor SVT startup screen (which did not come with the 2013)

Installed 3.6 last night while driving to my cousin's hockey game. Took about 25 minutes, give or take, and I lost almost all functions (as expected) during the install.

It kept all my radio presets, the Raptor startup screen is still there, sound settings, Navigation favorites, and some of the misc settings. I had to redo all the Nav settings, display settings, clock settings, the entire phone section, and I lost all the saved wallpapers.. can't recall what else, but I know there was more I had to redo.

Things I notice that changed:
- much faster response all around
- now displays the possible response commands automatically
- voice recognition seems to be better
- Radio now displays two lines of info on the home screen for both FM and Satellite. Haven't tried the usb yet.
- some of the icons have changed and/or moved positions

So far I'm really impressed with this update, but it's only been maybe an hour of use sense.. so we'll see. I'm trying to remain positive, sense I really, really want this system to work correctly.
