So.... green light from my wife on a Raptor - she has always liked them. Initially this was trading in her small Mazda SUV towards the Raptor. She has thought about this a little more and asked what she then drives (We are fortunate to also have an Explorer and a Convertible Mustang GT) especially in the winter. If I have the kids in the Explorer - I'm thinking she isn't too excited about always taking the Raptor (I know, crazy!).

Got me to thinking that perhaps I should trade my Mustang towards the Raptor instead. I'm going to take a beating on the '16 Mustang of course, but life is short. I say that more now that I'm 50! I have also come to the conclusion I would rather sit high in an SUV/Raptor vs. low in a car, comes with age I think.

The Raptor of courese is a different kind of fun vehicle than the Mustang. I do like that I can drive it 12 months a year in a Raptor vs. 6 months in the Stang in our climate. Going through snow and whatever nature throws at us sounds fun too. Even though I think I'm going to go with a SCAB, there is still much more room back there for my kids than my Mustang.

I know ultimately I need to make this decision. Thinking other members may have done this in the past. Don't want to have regrets later...

Thanks for the input!

Went from a GT500 to a Raptor.

Would still do the switch. Occasionally I miss rowing gears/fast car, but the performance of the truck offroad, the ride, and the looks of the truck confirm that the decision was the right one.

Nice, that's what I want to hear! What year was your Shelby?

Keep the Stang and have the wife drive the Raptor. Most wives end up taking them anyways. Don't leave yourself without a backup toy.

I'm going to be selling my C7 corvette and most likely my Evo X and getting the Raptor. I'd like to get down to one vehicle and have more room. Both are fun cars, but the Raptor will be fun and a bit more practical for daily stuff. Also... my Evo is rated at 12/18 mpg lol... so at least when I'm getting ****** MPG in the raptor... I'll have a 36 gal tank (vs a 14 gal pipet in the evo).

I say keep her car or Explorer , keep the Mustang and pick up a beater daily and get the Raptor . In the end youll have 2 toys and love both of them. I have a Mustang and Raptor and wife has her car. Both of mine sit more then drive but I enjoy still having my Mustang even if I hardly drive it .
