So if one uses his truck for towing and loading the bed out to the max while trailering, will this screw up the ride hight? Sway crap and so on?

My bike trailer with 2 bikes on it and two bikes in the bed, 4 bike haul, was basically ALL my FX4 would take. Raptor would be about the same I would assume and that would make me a little leary of moving up the front end for my use. ??????????

I dropped by the dealer this afternoon and had my buddy move the front shocks to the middle perch. The stance is perfect! It came up about 1.25" but it appears almost level. Even with a nearly full tank, the rear still sits another 1.5" higher... a very slight rake.

The ride is maybe slightly firmer but its almost imperceptible. I think you'd have to drive two different trucks back to back to feel the difference. It does seem to have less dive under braking. I haven't found any downside yet.

Here is a quick cell phone shot from today to compare to a shot from last week. Its amazing how much of a visual difference 1.25" makes. This is how it should've been done by Ford. I think it'll look even better once I decide how I'm going to do the rear fenderwells in black.

I had my wheel wells done in Linex, looks great.

I've already had my 20' car trailer with a '65 Mustang on it behind my truck. That was before I lifted the front end but it didn't squat a whole lot. The rear is still 1.5" higher than the front so it does have room to squat. The next time I have a car on my trailer I'll measure the squat and see what it is.

What do the bikes weigh? I would think that with 2 in the bed plus the trailer, that you might be looking at more weight than the 550-600 pounds of tongue weight my loaded trailer would have. If it was me, I wouldn't hassle with loading the bikes in the bed and just get a 4 bike trailer.:)

BTW, these trucks do have the integrated trailer sway control.

A less expensive alternative to line-x'ing the wheel wells would be to get a spray can of black undercoating. Just make sure to scrub the surface real clean before spraying. There isn't too much masking involved. Holds up great and has textured consistency similar to line-x.

I have some of that too but it might end up being too thick. We'll see...

The bikes in the truck usually weigh in at around 800 or so plus a few extras. The tounge weight of the trailer loaded with 2 bikes is about 300-400 lbs. The FX4 would squat but still had travel up and down. Thats not the usual sanerio. Usually have one in the bed and two on the trailer. Most of the time if its just me on a road trip with two bikes I will just trailer both. Since I have 3 bikes I always like to take two just in case one ***** on me! AHhahaaaaaa.

Its usually the longer hauls to Colorado where I have a fellow rider or 2 that we load 3 bikes. I like my two bike trailer because it was no wider than my FX4 was, 5 X 13 with two wheel chocks. So squeeze between something and clear it with the truck and the trailer would make it as well! AHhahaaaaaaa. Now that is a moot point! Trailer pics follow now! Just after the BLING treatment to the land scape trailer I bought 10 years ago. HAHahaaa.

Got it.

I see its a single axle too. Those are always more touchy about getting the balance right. With my tandem axle, its a little more forgiving so I can remove a little tongue weight by loading the car a little further back and not worry about the trailer swaying.
