Morimoto Announces NEW 2nd Gen XB Headlights for Gen2 Raptors

Are the headlights supposed to turn on in auto like the oem leds or are these morimotos just have the amber strips come on during daylight

The headlights will come on in Auto at dusk, just like OEM. During the day the amber halo strips should be on.

Okay so I know a lot of folks have had questions and we apologize for not answering. It's a new product so before we answered we wanted all the details.

1) The hyperflashing issue is most likely due to the fact that the orange wire was not connected. It's easy to overlook since it's capped off on the headlight. The OEM LED Harness has a single orange wire with a connector that has to plug into it's corresponding wire on the headlight. This is a "data sensing wire."

2) The DRL harness is required in order for the "Bugatti Startup Sequence" to work. This draws additional power that the OEM Harness cannot provide (which is why you never needed it in order versions, as there was no startup sequence). Your lights will function without this of course, you just won't experience the startup sequence.

3) The CORRECT harness you should have should have a resistor brick attached to it (usually yellow heat shrinking is on the wire) and looks like this



If you don't have that harness, then you were sent the wrong harness and need to contact the dealer you purchased it from for assistance obtaining the correct harness.

All of our customers should have already received the correct harnesses by now. Contact us direct if you are a customer of ours and are experiencing problems and we'll help you out.

3) Out of the box the lights are equipped with an OEM Halogen harness. You need to REMOVE this harness ENTIRELY (that means you're also removing the 2 resistor packs that are attached to the housing, as you don't need those either. A lot of folks forget to remove them, because the instructions are not that clear. If you leave them on, you'll experience weird issues with the lights.

4) The bad news... these are on back order till January 2021. Due to what's going on in the world and a lot of changes on the Morimotos, these are taking longer to produce. They sold out FAST on the first batch and the next batch WAS slated for this month but it's getting pushed back again another 6 weeks or so.

It's advised to get your orders in now with us to secure your place in line. We anticipate once they are "back in stock" they will be sold out in a few days while all the back orders are filled (first orders in, first orders shipped).

By connecting this orange wire aren’t you losing the sequential turn signal?

For clarification, the "OEM LED Harness" should already be on the truck, correct? It is not part of the headlight kit?

Also, regarding the orange wire with connector...this means that we should be able to plug the orange wire into the headlight? Or will we need to splice wires together to make the connection? Sounds like it's plug and play...

Just to be clear, the harness you're talking about in the quoted section above is the DRL harness?

This is a nightmare. Hope they figure it out as they look great, but the bugs should be worked out prior to taking new orders.

I'm gonna make a video for you guys... stand by, yes it's confusing and we've already spoke/discussed this with the TRS/Morimoto team. They have plans to fix the instructions later.

By connecting this orange wire aren’t you losing the sequential turn signal?

It is a different orange wire. I have it connected and don’t have the hyperflash issue
