Morimoto Announces NEW 2nd Gen XB Headlights for Gen2 Raptors

Got lights installed finally . 1st night shot oem low beam 2nd oem high beam .3rd pic morimoto low . 4th morimoto high beam. Morimoto have a crisp cutoff and light has more blue tint than oem. I did sequential turn signal also. Adams video made wiring easy peasy.

Hmm the difference in light output doesnt seem that much in those photos. Low beam def is a bit better on teh morimotos but high beam seems pretty even to me.

I think my phone modifies the lighting in the pictures . Morimoto Low beam shoots wider has very crisp cutoff . Color is tad more blue than oem . Which I like .

So is it worth the money or not? I ordered a set. But pics are hard to tell the difference.

Yes it was worth it . Low beam is much cleaner . Oem seams to scatter the light. Projectors are crisp. There is only so much you can output on low beams without blinding people. It spreads out pretty nice on desolate roads . Hi beams not any better then oem as far as distance . I will soon rectify that with BajaDesign foglight pocket triples. Overall it definitely looks different .Sequential turn signal is kinda cool.

So my take on the Morimotos. I had the original versions, which were a big improvement over the factory. I upgraded to the new Gen2 and the are an improvement over the first version, at least with the low beams. The high beams, not so much if you want me to be honest. They remind me of the factory OEM LED highs, which don't do a whole lot. It'll do a LITTLE bit, but nothing major.

The reason for this is it's just changing the angle/pattern. All 4 projectors are on now with low. The bottom two (your highs) work similar to how bi-xenon HID kits worked. Where there is a solenoid and a piece of metal that blocks 1/2 the light and provides that cut-off pattern. When you activate highs, it drops down and allows all the light out. So it's not a whole lot. It just adds a bit more up top, but nothing like throwing 2 entire projectors on (which were off).

So that is my opinion. I don't use high beams much where I am, so I don't notice it too much. Plus I have a Baja Designs fog kit, so I really use that when I want more light.

But the lows are very nice indeed, a huge upgrade.

To me, I think the OEM headlights look better. I felt the same way with my Gen 1. I don’t normally like the way aftermarket lights look—typically they all look cheap.

But I am glad you noted what you did. I want to improve my low beams—I don’t care so much about the high beams. If I am in a situation to run high beams, then I can just run my BD XL 80s and Onx6.

Went to carwash sprayed the crap out of them . No condensation or leaks. I didnt notice till now the led side markers match the oem marker lights.

Nice - do you have to set these up with a sequential blinker or can they blink like OEM?
