Would welding a 1/4 plate of reenforcement steel along the length of the rail fix the weak spot? It seams that the impact just hits so hard that something has to give...

I would be seriously "bent out of shape" if this happened to my truck. No pun!

It would be fixed and traded in.

What is Ford saying???

Questions:

1. Did anyone prerun the course?
2. If the course was perran, why wasn't the large kickers marked?
3. Did everone have some type of radio communications with the lead truck?
4. How wide was the spacing between trucks?
5. Why didn't the lead truck warn the others of the large kickers? The lead truck would have these responsibilities.

1. Yes
2. We didn't all have the GPS units capable of downloading the course and markings. Lesson learned - get the right gear.
3. Kind of. We all had CBs but with the no wind and dust conditions you only had comms with a few trucks because we were so spread out. Lesson learned - get the right gear.
4. At best - inches? At worst - a mile? It was dusty with no wind for a lot of the run.
5. They did, but see #3 and #4.

Lessons were learned. Hopefully we blazed a trail for future runs. You live and learn and, most importantly, have an awesome time doing it. I hope you don't get the idea that Outlaw did a bad job. They absolutely did a fantastic job. This was one of the best organized events I've ever been involved with. I tip my hat to Connor and the whole Outlaw Carnage Crew for their efforts. If you own a Raptor you should do SOMETHING like this.

Any changes to the frame, Bumpers, ride height, etc. will change the crash rating of the vehicle. Doing so will transfer the libility, from the manufacture to "YOU"!

Yes, there will be videos once we can edit the footage. Almost everyone had an in-truck cam + there was a guy filming/taking photos.

When I say bent frames I mean bent frames. A few kickers sneak up on you and you will have one too. Like I said it is a crap ass design from Ford.

Who said we averaged 102 mph? I saw the other side of 110 a few times and 80+ more times that I could count. We stopped a lot so the average was pretty low - especially at the beginning.

Consider the carnage reports a disclaimer though. This was absolutely the most fun I've had in the truck and WILL be doing it again - with a beefed up truck though.

Yeah that run is really fun, I have done it a few times.
There has been a Raptor debate on another forum I frequent, we like the truck but feel it is over priced. And well the main debate is.....you can buy the cheaper model and spend the extra 20-30k on a well as you would put it, a beefed up truck

Go build a loaded FX4 on Fords site, THEN come back and tell us how much more we paid for the Raptors. BTW... my fully loaded 6.2 came out to a whopping $41K...

20 - 30K less.... :3811797817_8d685371

FX4 :wtf: Prerunners don't need 4WD
In fact there are some smokin deal out there right now.
The best way is to buy a very good used truck (with a good drive train and good interior package) if it has dents no big your gonna cut it up anyway and mount glass, and end up with a bad ass Prerunner.
With all the extra stuff you want that will hold up and suck up bumps like a Cadillac. Its value added, The Raptor is a fine truck.......but, spend that amount of coin to pull a lot of $hit off that you would want to upgrade (front & rear fenders, bumpers, shocks, rear spring pack, upper & lower A arms, Diff, seats, stereo, wheels & tires etc...) That is money wasted. For most that have purchased a Raptor it is fine for them and the type of off roading they do. I would not be content, for the average Prerunner enthusiast it is a never ending project. 8-10k for the front 18" travel 8-10k for the rear 21" travel & Diff, cage, seats, light's, performance upgrades, the list go's on. I only have 14" up front and 12" in the rear, and on the same run my front sucked it up and the rear bucked. in the near future I will have 18"-21" in the rear
Then I would like to cage it and so on.........

Sure you can but it doesn't come with a warranty.

Raptor's are over priced ??? Thats like saying beauty comes from within, its just something ulgy ppl tell themselves.

No offence though bro, your truck is sick ! I owned a 97 and a 04 before my Raptor.

But you're still comparing an older model truck to a brand new fully loaded one with a warranty.......and that alone makes the the cost comparison an apple's to orange's one.
