Mid Perch FTW! It kept me from bashing my skid plate several times at TRR. Did it in my driveway for free. It can easily be set back to lowest setting if you have to go back to the dealer, and the ride IMO is just as comfortable. Granted I was only on bottom setting for about a week.

Guessing its one of those things they used to make adjustments during engineering. Then at production time nobody told fox delete this part and how much. To go back and change the design to you and me should not cost much.. But once you make a mould that can costs hundreds of thousands to change it becomes a new mould. So Fox went with it and Ford said let it fly who is going to know to look for that adjustment. Now we now the end result and off road enthusiast did look and figured a way to make it work.. I will say that unless Ford goes with the exact same shock on the new design, those adjustments will not be there on future versions. Of course this is just an educated guess..

Adjusting perch voids your warranty and Ford has made it very clear to dealers to look for it and report it if it is seen. So if you like your warranty on any steering, Shocks, Front axles, Iwe, etc.. Don't do it.. I have ridden in both non perched and perched and yes the stiffness in the ride changes. Also another thing to remember is that in an accident you have modified the height of your bumper and negative consequences can be had from this.

My dealer just replaced a blown shock. The blown shock was set at mid-perch. Some dealers may say something but all don't. I have seen posts recently about Ford sending out bulletins to service departments telling them that factory perch is where it needs to be. My dealer had seen those and submitted the claim to Ford. Ford paid it without issue. Will be a non-issue for me soon anyway when King shocks arrive.

I don't think the Raptor either runs or looks up to its potential without the following simple mods:

Mid-perch

Toyo (or your own fav upgraded tire)

Wheel rims upgrade

5-Star

CAI

Bed cover

Exhaust -- I like Stainless Works

Delete reflector at mirrors (most important!)

And that's it! Maybe add a light or two and a stubby antennae.

The mid-perch and Toyos just blew me away -- what a great look. And yes, you will need an alignment after the mid-perch.

Which Toyos?

For goodness sake. If your worried about your warranty don't touch your truck with any modifications. Hell, my dealer did the mid perch for me. Looks a bit better (still not totally level) and rides a heck of a lot better. My truck went up in front exactly .80 inches and the tech told me that increase will NOT affect any of the stock parts.

But let ask why and how. It's on the truck it's not like your removing the suspension and putting something different in. It's still OEM. I get it the whole "altering" thing but this just puzzles me on an OEM suspension.

Hey.....if you do anything to your truck (aftermarket) Ford can not cover your warranty. Your option is to hire an attorney and fight it. You know how that will go and cost you far more than the repair in most cases. It's a crap shoot and if it concerns you do nothing to your truck. If not.................Modify baby Modify!!!
