Well, whatever the reason this "mod" is falling very low on my mod list. If I need to do this to run 37s, I'll keep 35s...

Had mine a few weeks ago, way better as far as looks, ride and overall handling!

yeah not sure what people are talking about. Looks, ride, braking, handling, all have improved for me.

bumpsteer was bad because of alignment issues. you NEED an alignment after this mod! I ran it for 5k miles without and saw an increase of 1-2 mpg when i finally got an alignment. pretty sure I had some premature tire wear as well

I don't know about others, but I've been hesitant since that's not how the car was designed, and Ford basically says don't do it. In the absence of other hard data, I'll take the SVT team's design choices seriously. Some people say it rides nicer. Others say it doesn't. From the factory I think the Raptor runs great. My desire to run 37s was more cosmetic. This truck would look better IMO with beefier tires. But I'm not willing to risk damage or ride quality. Maybe when it's time to replace the shocks, that might be a good time for me to revisit this.

I really, really, really like how my Raptor drives and handles now.

I see where you're coming from, but as awesome as these trucks are, there is also plenty of improvement to be had. Often the manufacturer makes compromises. Even the great SVT team. If the truck was perfect no one would ever do any mods or upgrades.

Adjusting perch voids your warranty and Ford has made it very clear to dealers to look for it and report it if it is seen. So if you like your warranty on any steering, Shocks, Front axles, Iwe, etc.. Don't do it.. I have ridden in both non perched and perched and yes the stiffness in the ride changes. Also another thing to remember is that in an accident you have modified the height of your bumper and negative consequences can be had from this.

I don't think the Raptor either runs or looks up to its potential without the following simple mods:

Mid-perch
Toyo (or your own fav upgraded tire)
Wheel rims upgrade
5-Star
CAI
Bed cover
Exhaust -- I like Stainless Works
Delete reflector at mirrors (most important!)

And that's it! Maybe add a light or two and a stubby antennae.

The mid-perch and Toyos just blew me away -- what a great look. And yes, you will need an alignment after the mid-perch.
