Completely understand how seasoned veterans on this forum may have their radar up on us that have few posts.
This happens on the F150 forum when I was on there. I think it’s understandable for in my case...
1.) Never had a Raptor.
2.) Currently don’t have one to mod, or ask a lot of questions about or give advice on.
3.) Just learning so a few qualifying posts.
4.) Wanted to buy one.
5.) Did my homework, a lot was from right here.
6.) Made a fair offer and it was accepted
($500 over invoice).
7.) Wanted to pay back those on here who helped guide me by reporting back.

When I ordered today, was told the market is flooded with Raptor’s right now. They make money when they move them and on such a high price truck they can’t afford to sit on them.

I agree, the market is changing quickly, and my guess is in another 12 months we will begin seeing some under invoice with bed liners thrown in certain select areas as 2020 models get announced and released. I think it's important to share with the community as this helps everyone here that is potentially in the market to purchase to get a gauge on where the market is heading and how quickly. I know it definitely helped me when making my purchase recently. It's sometimes hard for people to hear about good deals or how prices for these trucks are dropping when they paid more for their trucks or worried about resale etc, especially the veteran early adopters some paying ADMs a few years ago. However, I think someone people forget, this is a mass produced vehicle, it's not a limited run or low production high value sports car, prices will drop inevitably due to supply.

As a side note, I haven't been a member here for that long, however, i'm willing to bet there's more trolls and sneaky dealers here talking about lack of deals and prices not budging in the market than there are people making false claims about getting good deals IMO.

You haven't been here long have you? We have waaaay too many trolls claiming they'll get $9k off a raptor because they are master negotiators and others who try and convince people the V6 is an unreliable POS and depreciation whacks $20k off as soon as you drive it off the lot. Lots of haters trying to force their views on everyone else.

I stand corrected. I just don't understand why someone would waste their time doing that, sounds like a lot of effort for no reason. Guess I have a lot to learn.

Im an auto dealer, so I can buy at Manheim or retail. The Raptor is interesting when looking at the market. This was my first Raptor purchase and I was a bit surprised. I have owned lots of cars and always buy online which some are in state and some are many states away....The raptor was the 1st truck I bought that was not available at a big discount. My last few trucks were purchased well below MSRP (15k+), but this was not the case with the Raptor.
I found that if you want a newer (18 or 19) truck, you can buy brand new from a dealer for the same price as used at Manheim. The interesting thing about the Raptor is the cost of the options. When you look at the MMR value online with Manheim, you just enter the VIN and it provides the price. It does not reflect any added options. We all know the options are nice and value added, but from a wholesale standpoint, they aren't added back in on the resale side when trading or wholesaling.
I was able to buy my Range Rover cheaper at the auction because it has 25k in options, but the wholesale price did not add for those....It has a 66k base MSRP, but the options put it at a 99k sticker. I was able to buy that truck for 66k with 3k miles on it.
I didnt want a base Raptor, but also didnt want the sticker in the mid 70s.....The resale value of the raptor is strong, so I went with a 2019 801a with the sunroof and tailgate step. I bought the decals online for $350 which would of been $1,000 on the MSRP.
I was able to get 4k off MSRP and no dealer fees. They actually backed $4800 off the price to zero out the $799 dealer fee here in Florida.
With the Ram, I bought the trim level I liked, but would steer away from added options on top of the trim. The MMR did give added credit for the trim on those trucks (F-150, Ram, etc), but the Raptor does not have a trim level. 801 vs 802 is the same trade in value as they are not trim levels, but are just added options.
I wanted the 802A, but dont keep my cars long enough to pay the additional money when it's not credited back on the wholesale trade in price. 802A is the way to go if you plan on keeping the truck longer than 3 years.

If anyone wants the MMR value on their truck, just let me know....They give adjustments for color, mileage, condition, and region. If you want your value, send me your color, mileage, condition (rated 1-5 and you can use fractions 4.4, 4.8, etc), and region of the US.

I always join forums before I buy because these things are priceless.......The dealer I bought from did not have a discount online, but matched the price quoted from the out of state dealer.....The ultimate savings was the shipping cost.

I used a shipping company that was half the shipping cost of the dealer quoted price. (McNutt)

Hope you find this helpful.

Please don't shoot the messenger. I am not offering to buy anyone's truck....

Remember, the values are based on Manheim MMR WHOLESALE prices....

askjorgelopez at Tomball Ford in Tomball TX

He is all over Instagram and I contacted him when my dealership for my 3 previous truck purchases, Galpin Ford, wanted $25,000 over MSRP for a 2019 Raptor here in California. I had him all set to place an order when my dealership got me approval at msrp. He was very accommodating and understanding, as he sells a LOT of Raptors.
Galpin is the worst, bar none.

Just for clarification, I used the USAA car buying service that guarantees a specific markdown. they don't always have Raptors in the program but I found 3 dealers who did have Raptors as part of the program.
