I appreciate it, I honestly think he might get a better or equal deal getting a 19 but for some reason he is set on an 18. Debating out of state trip and drive it back like others have mentioned. thanks for the input/advise.

There's an 18 802a race red listed at $4,500 below msrp at the dealership i work at, but it's up here in ND. cross-country grizwald road trip? lol

You can find 19’s at near invoice. Go to cars.com and search whole US. Click on raptor, 2019. You can see the msrp and then dealer price. I posted an invoice 2019 Raptor a couple weeks back. I’m sure someone snagged it already.

I haven’t checked in a while, but I don’t dispute good Raptor deals are out there. Invoice would be great but I’d be satisfied with a few k off MSRP likely. To me the real issue is that even when faced with these deals, the bitter clingers still stubbornly stick to ADM, and sometimes over the course of months. I know there were people who paid ADM, some paid all of it to dealers for the ’17’s, but it just baffles me that as you point out - go to cars.com and find deals way better OR order from a non-local dealer at -just for discussion’s sake- 3500 off MSRP. You present to your local dealer and they say “F*** you, go out of state and buy it”. You protest - “I’d like to stay local, but if you insist, I will go out of state”. They say “sounds like a plan, let us know when you have your Raptor, we’ll be happy to service it”.

Of course, there’s also the option of ordering out of state and delivering locally.

I found lots of dealers that would give 4K off, but the sticker was 72k. I just bought a 2019 801a agate at 4K off msrp. I emailed a ton of dealers and the best price was from wade ford. I couldn’t get past their dealer fee. bill Currie ford matched it and gave me another discount equal to the dealer fee. My true price was 4K off msrp on a 62k truck.
This discount was not on the website, but I used the out of state dealer quote in my negotiation.

It has been discussed and proven countless times, but almost all internet quoted discounts on Raptors are total garbage. Dealer inventory management systems categorize the Raptor as a F-150 and mistakenly apply all the discounts and incentives that don't apply to a Raptor. A discount on a Raptor isn't really a discount until someone calls and verifies it. When I was looking, 80-90% of the discounts I called on were mistakes.

That said, 10% of the discounts are legitimate and it definitely makes it worth the effort of calling.

Exactly my experience at 2 Dealers on the Central Coast of CA. Showed Paso Robles Ford the deal available to me in Kansas City, he said "Have a nice trip!"
I did have a wonderful trip, $2K under MSRP, sent the idiot a picture and he didn't respond. I used Airline miles to fly with my wife, Marriott Points for several Hotel stays.
Good all the way around!
CA dealers are horrible - every one of them - especially GALPIN FORD - their ADM borders on astronomical, and NO deals.

What's wrong if dealers wait for another buyer who is willing to pay more? I've sold plenty of cars on Craigslist and it is disturbing how many retards get offended when I turn down their ridiculous offers. I don't care what they think and am simply waiting for a buyer who is willing to pay my price. The level of entitlement in this country is staggering. Bring the money or ****.

I negotiate for a living, so I guess these things don't bother me. I bought my truck out of state and didn't complain about it. If he can make more money selling it to someone else, good for him.

I called the owner of a ford dealer before my purchase. He also owns the dodge dealer up north where I bought my hellcat. I spoke about the discount and what he could do. He said they don’t get enough raptors to sell any below msrp.
He wasnt willing to cut one loose when he could get full price from someone else.
I did get a good deal on the dodge because he said nobody was going to buy it anytime soon during the harsh winter.

I didn’t mean to suggest it was wrong for the dealers to want more money for their sale, but, I am questioning the actual value of keeping an asset overpriced at the expense of not selling it. Now, I’m not an auto dealer but that truck is soaking up some resources at some level just sitting there on the lot. at a certain point, it’s costing them to not move the vehicle. By “costing them” I don’t mean they’re losing money, they’re losing potential profit.

I’m trying to think of an analogy; I have a house for sale, it’s worth $500k on the open market, I’ve kept it up reasonably and made minor improvements, so I price it at $575. agent tells me that’s high for the ‘barrio and suggests it should be lower. House sits for 3 months, all the while I continue to pay the mortgage, upkeep and property taxes on the house. after 90 days, agent convinces me to lower the price, but I am too hard headed to heed their pricing suggestions and I set it at $565k. it’s still 65 k over priced and I am still paying interest, insurance and taxes, plus whatever upkeep I regularly expend on the house. I continue this stubborn streak for 9 full months, lower the asking price to $525k and start getting offers. after some movement on offers and my asking price I sell at $505k. My neighbor decides to sell for an asking price of $510k at 3 months into my sale, and immediately gets offers, eventually selling at the same $505k after only 5 weeks.

I’ve now spent ~8 more months of mortgage, upkeep, insurance and taxes on my house because I wouldn’t concede to a reasonable asking price. Doesn’t the dealer have similar costs associated with keeping a vehicle on the lot that isn’t selling, ostensibly because they’re stupidly asking too much? Because at this point in the Raptor market ADM is too much. MSRP is too much. Some markets I’m sure get away with MSRP, but are people seriously still paying ADM on the Raptor?
