Seafoam works. Gm had a really good top end cleaner that we would use on Cadillacs all the time because old people would never open them up. I know they still sell it but don't know if its the same formula or not. This was like ten years ago.

I think execution of how the cleaning is performed is more important than what brand you use.

What is your recommendation on how to use these products? I just do the easiest... Dump in the gas and go. I've seen people seafoaming through the vacuum lines but I've never had the balls to do that

I read that the way to use Seafoam was 1/3 in the gas tank, 1/3 in the intake, and 1/3rd in the oil. Run it for 5-10 minutes. Shut it down and change the oil. I have no idea if that's the proper method or not.

I do 1/2 down the intake and the rest in the tank. Don't stick your vacuum line in the can or you could potentially suck it all in at once and hydrolock the engine. Never seen it happen but it could. What you do is pour a little at a time from the can into your vacuum line. Just enough so it almost stalls the let it recover, add a bit more and so on. Great product. Make sure to use in all your small engines as well. 1oz to 1 gal of gas.

The stuff that's meant to go in your tank (like bg 44k and chevron additive) should go only in the tank. The induction cleaners like seafoam should be drawn thru the intake for best results. The vacuum line is the easiest method for doing it at home. I'll bring the engine up to 1500-2000 rpm by putting an adjustable rod inbetween the front of the drivers seat bottom cushion and the accelerator pedal. I'll dip the vacuum hose in and out of the can of cleaner as the engine stumbles and regains, not leaving the hose in the fluid for too long. As I get near the bottom of the can, or when I feel like enough fluid has gone thru the intake, I'll let the engine completely stumble and die (or have some one shut it off with the key while its drawing in cleaner if it doesn't die on its own). I let it sit for about 10 minutes then fire it back up and drive it hard. I usually do several wide open throttle 2nd and 3rd gear pulls to red line. The exhaust should smoke quite a bit for a few miles. Once it clears up your induction cleaning is done. You can also take an old tooth brush and scrub the throttle body housing and butterfly with some carb cleaner or throttle body cleaner to go the extra mile. I've done it like this probably at least 100 times and always had good results.

Email notification I recieved today just an FYI:

Tons going on as far as JLT Oil Separators go, like more applications, improved filtering and updated positions.

First we need to tell you about the New Improved filters used on some of our kits.

The following kits will be on back order while the new filters are being produced. They are due in by the end of this month, Oct. So only 2 weeks or less.
Very important as this does NOT affect all kits.
Separators affected:
2007-14 GT500 driver & passenger
2011-14 GT driver only
2003-04 Mach I
2005-10 GT driver only
2010+ 6.2 F-150

What we found:
While the filtering used in the separators worked, we saw it working much better in cases where the air and oil flowed IN to the filter side first.
On kits such as the 5.0 & V6 passenger side, the oil collection is amazing and the internet is full of customers pics of collected oil, but on the GT500 passenger side it was noticeably less.
After months of testing several different types of filtering media we have the perfect set up for our separators.

What we have:
An all new metal mesh filter has been designed for the smaller hole. The PCV draws oil and air through the filter first, forcing it to grow into larger heavy drops and drop into the separator.
Made from 60 mesh it has 0 restriction, but tons of surface area for oil to collect and drop.

The results:
Our separator will hold exactly 1.5oz of oil, that's filled to the intake and exit holes. We were able to introduce 1.25 oz of oil and hold it with the engine running and a full 1.5oz before any came out.
Not only did we conducted this ON ENGINE extreme test, we also have documented driving results as well, check out the video and pics below.

What we are doing for our customers?
We can't thank you all enough for supporting us during all these tests by competitors and our product being copied. We will be sending 500 filters FREE of charge to any JLT customer. Just email [email protected] a copy of your invoice (from any JLT dealer) showing you have a separator that is affected and the parts will be shipped at no charge.

Sorry for any inconvenience, but with 3 known JLT knock offs out there we have to be sure they are going to our customers. If you ordered direct we will have your info, just ask.

Purchased it used or don't have the invoice?
We are offering the filters at cost for only $6.95 each shipped.
To pre order online and pay, go to JLT Mesh filter

When will they be ready and how do we order:
Filters are in production and are due to arrive the end of the month and ship out to you the first week in Nov.

To get on the free list, Email [email protected] a copy of your invoice (most dealers have it on file, so getting it should be no problem) and your full name and mailing address.

JLT Oil Separators:
Easy install - 30 seconds for most kits
Easy check & empty- just unscrew and dump.
OEM look and quality
Perfect size- not too small, holds 1.5 oz and not too large
No cutting of your stock PCV hose - return to stock easily on most applications

Thank you for posting my email.

Yes, we have done tons more testing and found the perfect filter set up and are collecting much more oil.

I know we are close to the 500 give away, but at only $6.95 they are dirt cheap.
Can someone post a new thread with our email to make sure all Raptor customers see it?
Thanks guys
Jay

I emailed Marissa and she told me "Your order is for a bast kit, the base kits will work exactly the way they are as long as you have the oil coming in on the side with the filter. If not you need to turn the separator around, if you have any questions please call." I was kinda bumbed out but whatever. I'll be getting those little filter screens from you guys anyways.
