Ok to add to my on going project 2 things have been put off due to multiple excuses haha.

So from TRR 13 won a full set of tuned RPG front and rear shocks. All I can say is HOLY HELL these things are like riding in a Cadillac. For some of you this is a good comparison for a few reasons.
1. Only mod to the the stock suspension was the top perch.
2. I only have now the 3.0s nothing more or less.
3. No other factors to consider except a straight shock swap.

With totally no BS at all the shocks alone make this truck so much better in about every way possible. I was having some issues with the front dancing on top perch and now it stays firm and planted with the only feel back is of the road so you can tell what your driving on nothing more or less. I had exactly 50K on the old shocks. The rears are still in good shape and the fronts are harder to tell as you can't just push them down to see how the nitrogen is.

The install wasn't to bad did it all by myself. Another set of hands would have been awesome, but not needed. I will say fishing the little bracket to bolt the front reservoir is a little tricky and I will try to explain how I did it. Might help some people in the future. Other than that getting the hat bolts started on the top really could be a 2 person job but nothing someone by themselves can't handle.

Ok screw the talk lets see some pics!

Rear shocks
They were very easy to put on even with 200 PSI of nitrogen in them. Just get you a strap make a loop out of it and stand on it and drop the bolt in which every end you don't have stabbed.

Sorry didn't take pics before but it ain't like you can't find that out haha

Ok as for the bracket you have to fish in the frame tube...

I found it the easiest by taking the stock skid off and using the whole that front bracket mounts to the frame with for entry. Take the bracket with the big bolt going in first followed by the small bolt towards the front of the truck. The driverside doesn't matter but the pass side does as the front hole is smaller.

Ok First get your bracket right by big bolt going in first. The metal bracket holding the bolts together lay it to the inside of the frame so the bolts are facing to the outside of the frame.

Take your finger and push the bracket on its side down the frame to the rear. Once the first bolt is past then stick a screw driver in so that it can stop the bracket on the last small bolt. When the screw driver is in place to catch the bracket shove the bracket hard enough to get it to the screw driver .

After you have done that then come in from the top hole to the rear of were the bracket is going. Take another screw driver and start lifting the bracket up. Keep the screw driver pressed up against the inside of the frame so it doesn't slip off. As you lift you may have to go backwards or forwards to get them lined up. When coming up they should start to feed themselves in the hole.

They should come down through

This is what you are looking for

One Note that I didn't talk about was make sure the bracket is 100% on if needed to be bent a little to line the holes up then do so. To gauge the hole come in from the wrong direction and the thing you are worried about is the front part of the bolts. If they will get started they will go.

wonder why the 3.0 is upside down compared to the 2.5

I'm going to go with less mass to move up and down and getting the remote reservoir plumbed in would be a little tricky as well but shit what do I know.

Ok I was busy on the lift and did full brakes disc and pads all the way around. They are the R1s with the Ceramic pads. These are fully coated and drilled. I will say with them fully coated it is taking while to get them broke in and man do they smell. Reminds me of the good ol' asbestos days.

Anyways here they are:

Would have had some more pics but man it was midnight at this time. I had been their long enough and was wanting my pillow! :burnout:

With out a doubt best wedding gift yet... Doubt anyone we know is going to do it better than that! Oh an you guys were by far the first ones as well! Wedding stuff is everything but done and Oct will be here before you know it.

Can't wait to get them out on some stuff back home and see how they do with some speed/size of terrain. From the little time I've been on them they will eat that stuff up :birgits_tiredcoffee
