I don't know where in NJ you are but I will be getting these in sometime this week. Ill try to install them either next week or the week after. I am going to try to do it without taking the shocks off the truck.

I'm down in South Jersey, outside of Philadelphia. How did you make out with putting them on? I see some people have now done it with the shocks on the truck...so maybe it's worth a shot.
Let me know if you were able to...might have to make the purchase and try it out....

Here are a few photos from an installation today with the shocks on the vehicle. [emoji1417]

(1) jack stand
18mm combo
8mm on 1/4" ratchet
3/16 Allen wrench
Rubber mallet
Torque wrench
Floor jack
Aluminum block
external coil spring compressor (can rent this item from most auto part stores)

Maybe this is a dumb question, but what are the aluminum block and the rubber mallet for?
Didn't you use any air tools to compress the spring? Also, did you disconnect the A arm or the ball joints? Can you post a quick summary of the steps involved to do this with the shocks on the truck? That would be huge. Thanks!

Good questions. I will be updating the installation instructions.

The mallet and aluminum block are to move the spring perch collar up once the coil spring force has been removed from it. I wanted to try a few different things and remove / loosen as few things as possible. So if you loosen the outer tie rod, you can easily tap up the spring perch with a soft hammer.

No I didn't need to loosen up the upper control arm to knuckle. But that something you can easily do to give yourself more clearance.

No worries. [emoji106][emoji2]

Excellent, thanks! I'm anxious to hear how you make out. I'm going to order them this week. I tried it on my Gen 1, but looking at the old pics, the Gen 1 springs were wound tighter and look a little thicker. I think the Gen 2 should compress a bit easier which will make the job a little easier on the truck. If I get them by the end of the week I'll put them on early next week when I'm off.
