There are 4 aux switches. If it goes off, couldn't you slow down and turn it off if your caught?

Easy for the cop to figure it out. Sensors aren't invisible and not getting a read on the first shot is suspect.

I sold my passport after every city went to laser. Nothing beats driving within the limits and situational awareness. I was also tired of juggling the damn thing in and out over theft.

I got the 9500xi because it was a third the price, and only lacks the laser shifters, which, by the way, was made illegal in Texas as of September 1, 2011. Hope you dont get caught with that Ben!

Im wondering if you knew you were running that illegally now, and the 1k - 10k fine it can carry? LOL

Where are you getting this information...this is the first I've ever heard of them being outlawed in Texas.

Holy ******* shit...you're right. *********. I'm ashamed of Texas right now.

I messed up on the penalty- they ended up classifying it as a class c, which carries a maximum fine of 500.00, and I originally heard they were going to classify it as a class b, but I guess thats a good thing, right?

Yeah...class C is much better. Deferred ajudication and get that shit off your record. It might also be a fix-it ticket too where you can just remove them and you're fine.

Also, a lot of guys are talking about keeping them and doing JTK (jam to kill) instead of JTG (jam to gun) where they jam it till they slow down to the speed limit and then shut the system off so the cop still gets a reading and doesn't think you have diffusers. This also doesn't send a JTG code to the gun.

I'm supremely pissed about this law cause it was my planned first mod. Apparently the cops in Irving, TX really pushed for this legislation.

have had this system in for almost 2 years now since I created this thread.... still no tickets. And my Raptor's 9.2 avg (lifetime) mpg reading ought to give you an idea of the way I drive.

Hadn't checked this thread in a while, had no idea about the law change in TX... funny because I got a LSR SHFT reading on the display just last week when I passed a cop and he didn't do shit.

At this point I'm not even considering removing the laser jammers, I've been hit with the laser several times since that law passed and no cops have ever said a word or so much as flickered a blue light. If I do get in trouble with it, I know a damn good lawyer... if he can't get the ticket to disappear I'll just pay the ticket. A $500 risk is well worth all the times those things have continually saved my ass. I'd rather spend money on countermeasures and continue to take the jamming risk than get infractions on my driving record and pay lawyers or tickets or God forbid sit through the agony of a defensive driving class.

you know about the mute button right?

Yup. It's imperative to use when I pass Ft. Bliss (the Military base here) every morning. The system goes nuts with the heavy concentration of Military Police around there.

The most clever features of the mute button are that it only mutes one signal, so you never have to un-mute (even if you get hit by a new signal 2 seconds after you hit mute you will get a new sound for the new signal) and the mute button is big (relative to the tiny controller) and easy to hit quickly without looking at the buttons. This system is legit.
