I got my 18 order in yesterday for MSRP. Dealer is in Ohio though.
A lot has to do with the dealers regional Ford rep and how soon he reaches out to them.
I kept getting a lot of BS from dealers u tip I landed on this one.

Here's the deal,,when i came to this forum I was excited also that some of the people here got their DORA for the 2018 however after many threads i read as well as debating with some people on here ,,i came up with this conclusion which by the way not to my credit cuz someone else said it on here,,,ONLY when you are assign the VIN that's when you know it's for real. So I just consider it if and when you get the DORA it's just a preliminary order (maybe even preorder) I know some ass ***** will come and debate me ,,,just watch..anyway the point is "DONOT GET EXCITED" till you get the VIN. Thats when you're guaranteed to get the Raptor man. Good luck to us all.

Just a side note: Keep in mind if the dealer is too small they will only get 4 to 5 allocations per year so it's a question of will they give it to you (the dealer) or give it to THEIR repeat customer. The dealers are NOTORIOUS for having you fill out and do things so they can basically keep you on the leash (Lead System) and WILL find a way to bait and switch you if you wanted bad enough. Solution here is to find a dealer that have reasonable amount of allocation and more importantly AFRAID YOU WILL TARNISH THEIR NAME and basically service your order once you get the DORA.

Has anyone had success in California? I keep getting the same answer, which is they can’t order because they don’t have allocations yet. I have sent a proposal to 30 or more dealers almost all want 5 to 10k over MSRP.
One dealer said they sell all their vehicles at MSRP but won’t order because they have no allocations yet. They said they got 3 allocations last year but didn’t get them until Feb 2017?? Am I getting the runaround??
I am not opposed to an out of state purchase. Can anyone recommend a dealer near California?
Thank you.

More than $2000 difference? Your joking right?

If you use the KBB or Edmunds values for a 2013 vs a 2014 and assume that all other things are equal and the mileage being 36K (since were are assuming that they are both purchased at roughly the same time), the 2013 is worth about $500 less. If you consider the same logic for a 2017 vs 2018, the results would be roughly the same. The $1500-$1800 value difference that would benefit the newer model would be offset by the low mileage value increase. Even if you adjust the mileage to account for a vehicle purchased 1 year after and having an addition 12K miles, you might have a $2000 difference in value, but to say "much more than 2,000 difference" is just ridiculous.

I agree with this. But I've never been attracted to the "newer year" car just for that reason. If there aren't any significant changes, which it seems there aren't, a 17' w/lower miles would be my choice. If both equal condition and mileage, I wouldn't pay over $2k just to have it be an 18'. Imho

Interesting. Thanks.
It seems part of the struggle is talking to the right person. Half the time I feel like I am just talking to a sales guy and not a real fleet MGR….

Oct. or Nov. at the earliest. depending on where you're in the allocation queue.

Lots of variables. What number allocation for your dealer are you? How many allocations do they get? Etc Etc. There will be a lot that start getting them towards the end of August as long as there are no quality control holds.
