I'm expecting the mid-gen refresh in 2024, not 2023, because 2021 is such a short run and 2022 looks to have it's share of problems. That said, if I were Raptorless, I'd buy a 2021. Life is short. Grab the bull by the balls and hang on. Since I have a perfectly good Raptor, I'm happy to peek through the fence and watch the show for free. If Ford waves a 2023 800a with 37s and a black interior under my nose at a decent price, I'd be really tempted to jump early ...
Or maybe just grab it by the horns. That seems to have been working just fine.

10-20yrs down the road we will have almost forgotten about this pandemic and how it impacted the auto industry. Humans in general have very short memories.
You’re right! It seems like everyone has already forgotten about 09’. Remember when the DJIA was below 7,000? It’s wasn’t too long ago. If 09 happened again we would see some serious Raptor depreciation. Good thing mine could go to $0 tomorrow and I’d still be smiling.

I think that while the auto industry produces vehicles to satisfy their own interests, it's a symbiotic relationship. The world needs their product. Unless you want to ride a bike everywhere.

And dealers are charging what they must. At least all the ones around here have a tiny fraction of their usual inventory. less inventory=gotta maximize profits.

In fact, I think the only morons are those buying a vehicle right now when it is not absolutely necessary
I agree somewhat but it is behavioral psychology at work. Where I live, housing has appreciated so much that refinances have put money in peoples pockets. And those people want adventure type vehicles, for the most part.

"Mass produced" 2021 Gen3 Raptors?? Definitely not following this one, these 2021s are very limited. Some dealers that usually get 20-50 allocations a year only got 1 or 2 2021 Gen3 Raptor allocations. So your "mass produced" statement is irrelevant.
I think he means that the gen 3 as a whole will be mass produced and people won’t be intrigued about the 21’ specific model year that was very limited.

Now talk about the other side of the coin. Paying more for a new vehicle because supply of new cars is low.

Same with houses right now. Everyone wants to talk about making a killing on selling their home. No one wants to talk about getting slaughtered on the price of their new home
Yes I would agree on that statement if im buying a more usual vehicle. Paying MSRP for a KIA right now thats dumb. But a raptor? They go for MSRP normally. So its not like your paying any more for a raptor right now.

yeah of course dealers are going to try and make some money on there first stock orders. Im talking about a order, and most people that ordered one are not paying over MSRP. But if your talking about that yeah i agree really stupid paying huge markup when most people are not!

Raptor is a vehicle that is always in demand, no matter the current market. 21 or 22 its still going to hold its value
