Do ya think that having a truck load of gear and running that run might have pushed the truck to the limit? Thats knida what I am thinking. People and gear in the truck might have put the truck at its payload limit and then hitting a washout at high speed many times...

Now there's a good thought. Plus, the trucks with the Deavers and gear would have had the rear suspension in a more compressed position due to the reduced payload capacity of the springs.

I wasn't on the Outlaw run so I only know about it from what I've read here. That being said, it's only been since then that I've heard of this happening. I know there's a good amount of us on here, and the other forums, that have really put the truck through it's paces and ran it pretty hard, jumps included, stuff that may or may not be "within the Raptor's actual limit's". I would think it would've presented itself by now. My avatar for example, I must've made that jump 6 or 7 times right in a row.....along with all the other stuff I've done, I have not had this happen to me (knock on wood). I can see it happening but I can't figure out why this did happen to every truck on the same run......it just makes me wonder about all the variables involved about this particular run. Just to clarify, I'm not doubting any of you guys that were on the run or Outlaw Raptor or anything, it's just, well, strange.

I was thinking the exact same thing. But I'm also guessing when most of us go out and screw around for a while we aren't heating up the shocks as much as these guys did. I looked back to my mojave rd run with my buddy (150 plus miles), and after about 30 miles of hard running, I could feel the compression of the truck was feeling much softer and the shocks were insanely hot. It is just strange this now has happened, and it all happened on the same run. Looked like fun though.

Another good point. Between softer Deaver springs, a bunch of payload, and sustained running through rough terrain, any combination of those factors probably caused the frame damage.

I've done this run several times, and its NOT a hard run and most definitely not rought terrain, its mostly fireroads

You have done this run with your Raptor before? If so, did you see any of the same things happening?

I agree Powerline is hardly rough. But one thing I've learned about this truck is it doesn't take much to over heat these shocks. They work decent for the short sprint stuff, or just messing around for a bit. But any sustained running even on fire rd type of stuff will over heat them.

The temp sticker is a good idea. But honestly I'm planning on changing the rear up anyway so I'm not all that concerned about the performance of the stock shocks because they are going bye-bye in the next few months.

Yes, in my mythical Raptor :)
It makes no difference what truck its been done in, the road is very flat and easy when your starting in Yermo. From what it looks like they missed all the technical stuff in Barstow/Dagget.

Pretty cool.....how do we get a hold of said stickers?
Hit up SDHQ, Camburg, Kartek, McKenzie's etc for them.

lol... your mythical Raptor? Ok, so that means you dont have a Raptor yet? So you run it with your off road truck or what ever you have...
