Under most circumstances I wouldn't worry about the skid plate. I ride in some rough areas and tricky trails, but rarely get the skid plate exposed to serious damage.

Hell, if it gets damaged I'll just get it fixed!

Got my replacement ADD Stealth bumper in and got it sprayed with Linex was going to powdercoat the panels black but now I'm thinking just leave it raw aluminum what do you guys think?

aluminum does not oxidize much. it would only be the outer layer, i think. and if you are like me, the sand would just polish it off anyways

It will only be the outer layer and it can be removed, but the corrosion is like a white chalky substance. Once that forms it prevents further corrosion.
