I always used the adhesive and zip ties to hold my ballasts in place...both on my truck and on other vehicles. I'm surprised the 55watt HIDs are not blinding. Guess I'll have to step it up when I get the Raptor.

I was gonna go the zip tie route but I figured the mounting bolts were gonna be a little more secure. And yeah, you should do it. It helps a great deal

Nice do you mind me asking what you paid for em? You should post some pictures and let us know what you think of them when you get em in.

Well in Canada we pay way too much for our vehicles and their parts, and I paid too much I know, but wanted it so bought it.
The price is $286 for the entire kit. Even a cheap setup here is about 170 so I splurged and got one that's supposed to be great.........that is if the guy at the autoparts place knows his stuff, so I hope so, but am not sure.

I could order new housing to, specifically designed for HID's in the Raptor, but I nearly had a heart attack when he gave me the price.....lol

Ok, lol, so 2 cars did it 10 years ago and thats a dealer option, didnt come from the factory like that.

Show me a recent vehicle that has HID bulbs in halogen reflectors. You cant because they dont exist.

You might as well just put a huge wing on the back and get it over with...

Roush puts a wing on the back of their factory F150 Nightmare truck.
I saw one today and it made me think of this post :waytogo:

Sometimes my driver side HID won't come on, and I have to restart the truck for it to turn on. Turning the headlight knob on/off doesn't do the trick. Does anyone know why it's like that?

Are you running them with a relay harness? sounds like a stuck relay to me. If thats what it is let me know I have an extra one from DDM.

i used to use ddm all the time. i installed them in many of my own cars, trucks, utvs, and friends vehicles and i even had a small side biz installing them in vehicles. over the last year or so they went to shit. i had similar problems i tried everything from running their rely, no relay, better relays, up the wire size. i think its the capacitors in their hid kit ballast. i think its faulty and it wont give the ballast the extra power it needs to fire. u may have a ballast goin bad.
