I would hope it would be better. They had to take 2 years off to intensely study how to do it though. That's how ******* good the GEN1's are!!!

I'm sure that the GEN2 is gonna be a very nice truck. I just hope that it is everything that everyone hopes it will be because you GEN2 FOAMERS sure are talking a lot of shit about a truck NONE of you have even driven yet.

You're logic is pretty far out there. There was much more in those two years than just trying to outdo the Gen1 power wise; new body style, new frame, new suspension, new interior, new transmission, etc. Everything is new and "improved", in theory.

PS. The foamers are not talking shit about a truck they have not driven, you are! They are just defending the truck from you Gen1 nutswingers. ;)

Oh, and I got your foresight hanging, right here.......:supergay:

Yes, “2 years to intensely study how to do it”………….. This included fixing the problems with the GEN1s after people were actually driving it the way they believed it should be driven. Ford has built the GEN2 to actually be raced and driven like a Baja pre-runner in stock form. They are proving this now by competing in the Best in the Dessert Off-Road Series race:

Raptor Goes Racing: Ford Enters 2016 Best in the Desert Off-Road Series

They have already made improvements based on this race series. The GEN2 is built by Ford Performance, which includes the old SVT and Ford Racing teams combined. SVT vehicles were not intended for racing, Ford Racing was tasked with this. Yes, we consumers have not driven the GEN2 to make a comparison, but Ford the builders of the GEN1 have, and they claim the GEN2s are a true representation of what a Baja Stock Class race vehicle is.

Don’t worry GEN1 owners, you guys have something GEN2 owner will not………..A special order, limited production 1st GEN vehicle that will be a collector in about 30 years.

1,000 a week! Sweet. There should be so many Raptors out there that we can get big fat discounts. Oh and then there's the V8 coming in less than a year. Even better. I mean we really should just all cancel our orders.

And @2014RubyRed at least you'll have the Gen 1 owners still buying from you to upgrade their trucks. 90% of forums is speculation when it comes to new vehicles being released. I guess none of us did any speculation when the Gen 1s came out. I've never seen a vendor bad mouth an upcoming product like you have where you could possibly have a whole new segment of customers.

Are you joking? That troll actually sells Raptor kit? I wasn't here 15 minutes and he went on my IL.

Wouldn't buy a t-shirt from him. So much for a solid business plan.

Folks - feel free to discredit my info or source as much as you like...however a very good friend of mine is an engineer with ford, who works at the actual plant where these engines are being made. He said they're making 1000/wk...so unless they are going in other vehicles, I think a lot of us that paid sticker or more for these trucks are going to be surprised when the production is pretty large..but for that we will see...

Ok on to the fun stuff... I asked him last night to go check, and he replied from work this morning. He spoke with the gentleman who's involved with this engine project - name and title withheld obviously, and apparently they have several up where he is in Dearborn at their facility doing durability testing.

450HP 500lbs torque.

He added an addl comment that 'it doesn't sound tough like the old raptor. It's tuned with a high pitch' . Don't shoot the messenger, I have one on order too..hope it sounds good! I think it will have more of a tuned sound...similar to how a porsche/ferarri etc sounds different from a v8 vette...less meaty but still cool.

I'm pretty happy with the numbers! They are right around what everyone expected.

1000/week makes sense. According to this link: Ford F-150 SVT Raptor sales jumping to new heights - Autoblog
ford was making 5/hr for the gen1 raptor. That would be more than 1000/week.
