Man I may be 15, but I am by no means an idiot. And yes my "mommy" and "daddy" are obviously in on this and will end up calling for the car, I am just trying to figure out which one it will be. And they are cooperating with me to choose the right one, so I am looking around. And I actually could understand what he meant, so can you try not to age discriminate. Jesus, I am just trying to get a raptor, isn't that what this forum is for? Can you just put my age aside and help me out?

and especially your that young. FOrget the quotes for insurance alone... you are 15/16 no stable income, no previous credit ratings... just ask your parents to do everything seriously.
The damn dealership i bought mine wouldnt even let me test drive it cause i was 21 and they were like "we test drive serious buyers only" but as soon as i had a certified cheque for 62k... they were wiping my ass for me.
noone is discriminating your age. were just saying it's going to be hard for you, unless your parents do the financing and show that they have income ect. Might as well get the car under your parents name and insured as a second driver. not only will you save money and money on insurance but in a few years you can always change the title to your name and since your going to have a few years of insurance exp, the payments will be cheaper.

vanilla haha when i was 17 i had a 350z fully tuned/nos ect i was stupid... don't know how i'm alive yet after the shit a pulled. that car has been long wrecked though :S

My parents are doing everything, I am simply looking at online car sites to find the one that both my parents and I like. The farthest I have gone is to call the dealerships and ask how much the monthly payment would be roughly with $8000 down. I am not calling as a 15 year old looking to haggle and buy a raptor, just simply getting numbers.

Dude, simmer down, seriously. We are all really trying to give you real and straight forward answers to your questions. I don't think anyone has really busted your balls too much for being so young. I'm sure we are all a little jealous, I'm sure we would all love to turn back the hands of time to when we were 16 and be looking to have a Raptor, whether Mom and Dad helped or not.

But realistically, without us knowing what Mom and Dad are chipping in or helping out with, and with just your $8000 down and wanting a payment between $500 and $600, you don't stand a chance at this point in time. And those are just facts, we would all be saying the same thing if you were 31, 45, or 62. Numbers are numbers.

You might also want to check out beekcake on this forum, they sometimes post up killer deals on some used Raptors.

hes actually selling one right now.
I know it's easier in the states, but here in canada they take the raptor more seriously than gt500's... almost as seriously as a GT40 hahahah. No touching, no sitting inside, nothing.
I got lucky at the first dealership when i was looking at 2011 cause.. well make things short.. a friend w/ ;) worked there.... the dealership manager was gone for lunch so she drove me to the lot where they had 2 raptors and let me rip around in one of them.
at all other dealerships they wouldn't even let me talk numbers.

Trying to be good.

Money talks with dealerships, and most are going to laugh at $8000 down on a Raptor especially a new one. And I know you are excited about a Raptor but have you thought of the $100+ a week in gas? Or the high risk insurance cost even if you are second driver?

Good luck to you.n

Oh good lord... you're going to hate me for this Jonathan, but I AM going to get on you for your age.. You're about to be 16, I can't even reconcile the stupid shit I wanted, or dreams I had at 16. How long is this infatuation with a Raptor really going to last for you? 6 months, 1 year, then are you going to beg your mommy and daddy for a camero? hell, go big, how about a lambo?? And of course your "hard earned" Raptor is going to be useless because you beat the hell out of it, like any good 16 year old would.

Are you going to go to college Jonathan?... I suppose you expect your parents to pay for that as well? How about helping to get you a house? What about your wedding?

How about you save them a little financial heartache and use your 8k to buy a nice used truck... Then they can save their 30-40k additional to pay for your college. If you still want a Raptor when you have your finances in order and can actually afford it, I say go for it!

I'll tell you a little story about a kid I went to high school with. At 18 he cashed in on a trust fund of about 120k. He bought a new truck, a new car, who knows what the hell else. Not even 2 years later he was flat broke, had totaled the car, sold the truck for a beater and was trying his damnedest to get into a Union with his high school tech degree. A hard lesson to learn if you ask me.

And no, this isn't Jealousy talking, I could really give a crap about vehicles and was ecstatic with my 94 cavalier my dad bought me at 16... I was even ecstatic with the shitbox 05 Neon, he got cheap for us a couple years ago.. a perfect 4th vehicle for us.

Whatever, I'm sure I'm wasting my time here, so...... We financed 40k at a rate of 2.5% and our payment is $714 a month for 5 years. That was roughly 12k down with PA tax and title and a hell of a deal from the dealership. You parents could possible extend the loan terms for a lower payment. And no, the 2012's are not going to go down much when the 2013's come out. Good luck, give your parents my best and be sure to post up pictures of your Raptor when you total it!:lol2:
