Last year there was only one or two mud bowls that were easily avoided by driving up higher on the dry bank of the curve. I stayed out of the mud bath because I was running as fast as possible. I didn't want to be slowed down with visiblity issues/wipers trying to clear the mud off my windshield. A lot of guys were mud splashing for the photographer snapping pics there.

Now on Saturday night it rained buckets - so the few of us that ventured out on Sunday definitely did some splashing. However, because that sandy/rocky track drains well, there wasnt really the boggy kind of mud that takes a lot of work to clean up. It was really just splashing through any standing water, and it actually washed off a lot of the dirt accumulated from the previous two days.

Thanks for all your clear, concise write-ups. I've already spent a good chunk of $$ because of them. :)

Wonder what's next... :ears

Dash Z Customer Service Report

So one of the CCFL halos failed on the passenger side Dash Z HID. I called up and spoke to Edwin, who is also the same guy who I dealt with during the purchase process many months ago. Before I called I tried to fix myself and was able to troubleshoot the problem. I found the correct voltage on the side of the connector inside the lamp which goes to a small circuit board that powers the CCFL Halos that is buried inside the housing. Only good solution was replacement.

Dash Z confirmed that my model didn't allow user replacement of the circuit board and sent me a replacement that I got a few days later.

I installed the other day, and duplicated the easy steps and transferred the HID lamp into the new housing and installed. This was the same side that had given me trouble with loose connections causing several remove and replacement procedures. this one went in so much easier, was super tight in fit, and required no adjustments, lined up right first time.

The other great thing is that the small annoying gap between the beams is gone. Before, the two cutoffs left a small rectangular gap that sometimes made me do a double take, like a small animal running across the road at the end of the projection... Anyway it is gone, and I am very happy.

Love the look, very happy with the service from Dash Z

Tough couple weeks without my beast. Here is progress pic from a while ago. Doing some more prototyping stuff with RPG.

Should be getting her back today or tomorrow, and will be doing some intensive field testing, pre-running and weather permitting, camping this weekend. I can taste the marinated Tri-Tip on the grill right now!

Go Aztecs - look for me, 19th row, 40 yard line in tonight's Pointsetia Bowl. Will be nice to get a vendetta win after "Replay-Gate"

Anyone care to guess whats coming?
