Last year there was only one or two mud bowls that were easily avoided by driving up higher on the dry bank of the curve. I stayed out of the mud bath because I was running as fast as possible. I didn't want to be slowed down with visiblity issues/wipers trying to clear the mud off my windshield. A lot of guys were mud splashing for the photographer snapping pics there.
Now on Saturday night it rained buckets - so the few of us that ventured out on Sunday definitely did some splashing. However, because that sandy/rocky track drains well, there wasnt really the boggy kind of mud that takes a lot of work to clean up. It was really just splashing through any standing water, and it actually washed off a lot of the dirt accumulated from the previous two days.
