Actually I would think the opposite. Most guys who are serious about offroading wind up throwing mods at their trucks. We are all aware of the main performance mods people do w/ these trucks & depending what you believe/who you ask the potential for a warranty void situation is there & only ratchets up the more extensive the mod. There's a thread on here where a guy had his warranty voided on his front diff grenading b/c he had eibach front springs. So I wouldn't be recommending that as a rationale behind buying an extended warranty at all.

That being said - I only do occasional mild off-roading (new engalnd logging roads/gravel roads/open field type stuff), but do use the Raptor as a truck towing utility trailer/jet skis/load up w/ stone/mulch in bed etc. I run a GH tune - and I DID purchase an extended b2b 100k warranty. WHY? Well my last GM truck had the factory nav/infotainment system rendered esssentially useless, touch screen interface malfunctioning etc. I researched & found there could be a number of fit/finish/design issues w/ Ford trucks especially in terms of body welds, water infiltration, pano roof issues, etc. ALL those dumb little electronic/trim issues that don't necessarily impede the use of the truck as a basic vehicle, BUT make driving it outside of warranty when something like that fails quite annoying as your shelling out $$ to repair a non-wear, non-essential, non-mechanical expense BS part. Like a window regulator, a coolant line, a turbo actuator, an infotainment screen, a pano roof panel, an LED light with moisture penetration - ETC.

While never happy about a mechanical failure, alot of times when something like a tie rod or ball joint or part of the brake system fails just outside of warranty - I at least get some "enjoyment" knowing I'll be replacing the failure w/ an "upgraded" part or doing a new mod. A bad cat outta warranty may be an excuse to splurge on down pipes or upgraded turbos, a leaking pano roof or non-functional steering wheel buttons? Thats just a BS PITA - one that I'd be glad I have a warranty for.
Depends on the dealer and how mod friendly they are. I drive further away passing another Ford dealership to go to the one I use. I tell them when I go off-roading and how I will back to get things fixed. What’s nice on the warranty is I can bring it in for multiple issues and they are fixed under one deductible.

Yeah that's true - cool dealers are key (as are extremely dumb/clueless ones)

I'm still trying to work a deal on a 20. My dealer has six 20's on the lot and two 19's. They are backed up on them, but just not that interested in getting aggressive on one.

Try again tomorrow and see what they will do.

Yeah, even though they cannot sell it to me tomorrow, they brought it over to my house to tease me, LOL

Hey that’s awesome that they took your counter offer. I think that’s a great deal OTD. I was confused when I saw some of your posts about a 2020 with a recall. Then I realized I missed some reading since I’ve been cooped up inside with the kids.

Post some pics when you finally get delivery.

Now to go convince the wife why I need a Gen 1 and a Gen 2....

Wife had no idea I did this, so when she arrived home from work she was a little off guard. She asked if I wasn’t going to take this one off-road, right? I just said not sure or not right now, lol.

So I bought a datenight curbside dinner from the local bar and grill. I am sure this won’t do it though, but she smiled.

I've been wanting a raptor for a longtime. I picked up my 19 802A with 3% interest $63k out the door. I feel like it was good deal because of everything going on.

Very nice deal and hope you enjoy it. Looks like your in one of the few lucky states with no sales tax. In PA you would pay another 6% in tax.

Ah, the good old “I didn’t tell my wife that I just spent $65k on a brand new truck” routine.

Yeah I was in Maryland prior to being in Montana. I paid an extra $4k on my Tacoma when I bought that there. I figured there couldn't be a better time to buy than now.

Actually she just came home today from work and said to me that it was fine with her to keep two trucks. Guess being married for 35 years helps.
