What's good to use on the door trim and bed rails? My old truck I used black magic and it turned kinda grey colored.

armorall is one of the worst products you can use on your vehicle. back to black also sucks, can streak down the bedsides with even just morning condensation.

Basically any product that is on the end cap of the automotive section of walmart is junk for your vehicle.

303, or Vinylex are two of the best products you can use on black plastic trim.

you seem to be the only one who thinks back to black sucks. i think it's great stuff and also good at getting wax off trim.

Yeah Reptar, I've never had any issues with Back to Black. That being said, I'm willing to try out something new. Where do you find 303 or Vinylex? I can't seem to find them at Wal Mart... :flipthebird:

Back to black (when it first came out) really sucked. Maybe they changed it.

BlackWow is one of the best, but takes a while to put on.

303 Aerospace it waterbased, so pretty much washes off in a good rainstorm (as are most "protectants").

Meg's and Chem. Guys both make good/handy aerosols. They're quick and last quite a while between wash jobs.

Both work about equally as well.

Meguiar's Plastic and Vinyl Coating

Instantly shines and protects vinyl, plastic, rubber, metal, glass, leather and many other materials. Sprayed surfaces are water, dirt, and stain resistant.

Personally I don't like AA or any of the normal protectants you'll find on the shelves. Stoner makes a TrimShine that you can sometimes find, but good luck.

Meg's also has a variation on their Ultimate Protectant (which is like 303) and they thicken it up and put it in a diff bottle and call it http://www.autodetailingsolutions.net/meguiars-ultimate-black-plastic-restorer.html

Haven't used the trim version, but the UP is pretty good. A little shiny even after buffing down though.

For the vulcanized rubber window trims... this is the best way to go (tires too).
